🍂 This Thanksgiving, we’re reflecting on what it truly means to be there for one another.

For Connie and her family, home was where she wanted to be. With the support of her sons and the compassionate care of J.W. MacIntosh Community Support Services, that wish was able to become a reality.

Stories like Connie’s remind us that the work we do is about so much more than services. It’s about people, families, dignity, compassion, and helping someone remain where they feel most at home. ❤️

This Thanksgiving, we are incredibly grateful for our clients and their families, our dedicated staff and volunteers, and a community that continues to support the important work we do.

As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend, we want to take a moment to wish our clients, families, volunteers, and community partners a safe, happy, and relaxing holiday.

We are so thankful for the incredible support of our community and for everyone who helps make the work we do possible. 💛

Please note that our office will be closed on Monday, October 12th for Thanksgiving. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, October 13th.

🍂 Happy National Seniors Day! ❤️
Today, we celebrate the incredible seniors in our community and recognize the knowledge, stories, strength, and experiences they bring to all of us.

At J.W. MacIntosh Community Support Services, we’re proud to support seniors in living safe, independent, and fulfilling lives in their own communities.

Our programs and services include:
🏡 Homemaking Services – helping with essential household tasks so clients can remain at home.
🍽️ Meals on Wheels – providing nutritious meals and a friendly connection at the door.
🚗 Transportation Services – helping clients get to appointments, errands, and activities.
☀️ Adult Day Program – offering social connection, activities, support, and respite for caregivers.
👣 Footcare Services – helping clients maintain their foot health and mobility.
🤝 Going Home Program – supporting individuals as they transition home after hospitalization.
❤️ Social Cohesion & Community Programs – creating opportunities for connection, friendship, and belonging.
🏡 Respite & Assisted Living Services- In home PSW help

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to age with dignity, independence, and the support they need to remain connected to their community.

Today, we pause to honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to carry the impacts of this painful legacy.
As a community support organization, we recognize that healing, understanding, and reconciliation are ongoing journeys. We are committed to listening, learning, and fostering spaces where respect, inclusion, and compassion can grow.
On this day, we invite our community to take time to reflect on the truths of our shared history, to amplify Indigenous voices, and to consider how each of us can contribute to a future built on understanding, respect, and meaningful reconciliation.
We stand with Indigenous Peoples in remembrance, in reflection, and in hope for a better path forward together.
