✔️🎃 We’re celebrating Halloween at school on Friday! Students can change into their costumes at lunchtime, ready for our Halloween parade and class parties. Students are welcome to bring treats, but they must be packaged and peanut-free.
Please leave costume weapons and scary masks at home. We’re looking forward to a fun afternoon! 👻
✔️As it is getting colder, please make sure your child has the appropriate clothing for the weather to be outside.
✔️ The lunch ordering window is open from Oct. 23 to 28 for meals being served between Nov. 2 to 13.
✔️Please make sure your child brings a refillable water bottle to school every day.
✔️Please make sure your child arrives at school on time. Breakfast program starts at 7:50 and class time at 8:10.
✔️We reminded students to leave toys at home so they don’t get lost or broken at school. Please remind them of this in the mornings.

As part of Mi’kmaw History Month, our Grade 2/3 French and Grade 3/4 Nickerson classes were fortunate to participate in a traditional smudging ceremony and learn how to make medicine pouches.

This was a meaningful hands-on learning experience that gave students the opportunity to explore Mi’kmaw culture and traditions while developing a deeper appreciation for Indigenous knowledge and practices. 🧡

We had a great couple days at the Soccer Field! We always enjoy our Elementary School sport days! Great weather, lots of laughs, good sportsmanship and friendships! We joined 5 other schools and everyone played their hearts out!

Throughout October, all of our students are participating in activities to honour and celebrate Mi’kmaq History Month.

We are excited to share some of their learning with you! Our first feature highlights our Grade Primary students, who have been learning to count to 10 in Mi’kmaw!

What a wonderful way to celebrate the language and culture of the Mi’kmaq while learning something new! 🧡

On Wednesday, our students visited the fire hall to learn all about fire safety! They even had the exciting opportunity to explore the fire trucks up close!

A special thank you to the Carleton, Kemptville and Valley Auxiliary for generously donating fire blankets to all our school families. What a thoughtful gift to help keep our families safe!
