This week at Y.E.S. October 27 - October 30

📌 Instructional time begins at 8:20 - please arrive on time. If your child will be late or absent please notify the classroom teacher. Dismissal is at 2:15
📌A reminder to families that there is no parking in our fire lane.
📌 Students should bring a refillable water bottle and a snack for recess
📌 This week, we’re celebrating Wonder-Minds Spirit Week (Neuro-Brilliant Week)!
Students will learn about and celebrate the many ways our brains work, recognizing that our differences are our strengths and that everyone has unique talents, abilities, and ways of learning.

▶ Halloween festivities- Students are permitted to change into their costumes after lunch playtime for our Halloween parade. No masks or weapons!

In recognition of Mi’kmaw History month we were excited to welcome dancers from Plymouth School on Thursday. This was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Mi’kmaw culture, learn from one
another and recognize the importance of healing, connection and community!

Yesterday the YES Girls Soccer team represented themselves and their school very well at the annual Yarmouth area Elementary Schools soccer tournament! They should be proud of the energy, spirit and sportsmanship they displayed! The Boys team is currently at the Janet Smith field for their tournament today. Good luck and have fun boys!

Reminder: Girl's soccer tournament is tomorrow and Boy's soccer tournament is Wednesday. Thursday is the rain date, if needed. Athletes must have sneakers ( no cleats ), shin guards ( if you have some, if not the school has some you can borrow ), socks to go over shin guards, a long sleeved shirt ( we will wear our YES jerseys over top ), pants for comfortable movement, snacks, lunch, a water bottle and a great attitude to have a fun day of friendly competition vs. other local elementary schools. :)

The teams were chosen by giving Gr. 5 students first choice to see their PE teacher to join. Some Gr, 4 students were needed to have enough for the team, so they were chosen based on interest shown.
