As part of his official visit to Georgia, the Secretary-General of the ICDO, Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, visited the base of the Main Division for Response to Special Situations of the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
During the visit, the Secretary-General attended a simulation demonstration exercise presenting the Service’s operational capabilities and emergency response mechanisms in various scenarios, including urban firefighting, CBRN response, casualty evacuation, and mountain rescue operations.
The Secretary-General also visited the Public Safety Management Center “112”, where he received detailed information regarding the Center’s operational coordination and emergency dispatch capabilities.

Within the framework of his official visit to Georgia, the Secretary-General of the ICDO, Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Mr. Gaga Kirkitadze, and the Head of the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Mr. Teimuraz Mghebrishvili.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the ICDO and the relevant Georgian authorities in the fields of civil protection and emergency management, as well as on the ongoing reform and modernization process within the ICDO aimed at enhancing the Organization’s operational effectiveness and international engagement.
The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, reaffirming the shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation and maintaining active professional dialogue.

The Secretary-General of ICDO, Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, met with the Prime Minister of Georgia, H.E. Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze, during his official visit to Georgia.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between ICDO and Georgia in the fields of civil protection and emergency management, as well as enhancing regional and international cooperation.
The sides also exchanged views on the initiative for the implementation of a joint regional field exercise in the South Caucasus region.
ICDO highly appreciates Georgia’s constructive role within the Organization and reaffirms its commitment to continued dialogue and practical cooperation in areas of common interest.

The Civil Defence Training City / Jordanian International Civil Protection Center has successfully concluded its Basic Firefighting Course, held from 6–21 May 2026.
The program combined theoretical and practical training in firefighting science, fire dynamics, suppression methods, and the proper use of firefighting equipment, contributing to the enhancement of operational readiness and professional skills.
The course brought together 20 trainees from Libya and 5 members of the Jordanian Civil Defence Department, promoting the exchange of expertise and best practices in the field of civil protection.
The graduation ceremony marked the successful qualification of a new group of firefighters.

The Secretary General of the ICDO, Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, delivered a statement during the Plenary Session of the 4th High-Level International Water Conference held in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan.
In his statement, the Secretary General emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation, preparedness and resilience in the face of growing water-related and climate-related challenges. He also underlined the important role of civil defence and emergency response institutions in protecting communities and reducing disaster risks.
The ICDO further reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Member States through capacity-building, humanitarian coordination and practical international cooperation, while continuing the Organization’s modernization efforts.

The Secretary General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, held an official meeting with Mr. Rajabali Rahmonali, Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, within the framework of the 4th High-Level International Water Conference in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in the fields of civil defence, emergency preparedness, rescue training and professional capacity-building, as well as opportunities for further practical cooperation between the ICDO and Tajikistan.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared willingness of both sides to further strengthen cooperation, enhance professional exchange and promote closer coordination.
