๐ŸŒโ™Ÿ๏ธ Celebrating the Successful Completion of the First FIDE Preparation of Teachers Course for Women Around the World (English Edition)! โ™Ÿ๏ธ๐ŸŒ

This weekend marked a truly special milestone as women from 18 different countries came together to participate in the inaugural English-language FIDE Preparation of Teachers Course for Women Around the World.

What made this group extraordinary was not only their passion for chess, but also the incredible diversity of experience they brought with them. Among our participants were nurses, media broadcasters, documentary creators and directors, charity leaders, IT technicians and app developers, university lecturers, lawyers, special needs educators, mathematics teachers, festival organisers, parents, arbiters, titled players, and high-performance coaches. We were also proud to welcome participants working with the deaf community through sign language education.

Beyond their professional achievements, this was a group filled with creativity and talent. With so many music enthusiasts, instrumentalists, and even a singer among us, we joked that we could easily start our own international bandโ€”with the lecturer volunteering for backup dancing duties! ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ˜Š

Most importantly, the course fostered an engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where participants actively shared ideas, experiences, and best practices. The enthusiasm, collaboration, and commitment displayed throughout the weekend made this course an unforgettable experience.

On a particularly meaningful Motherโ€™s Day weekend, we celebrated the successful qualification of 16 new female School Instructors (SI) who are now equipped to help educate and inspire the next generation of chess players.

As the African proverb reminds us:

โ€œWhen you teach a man, you teach an individual. When you teach a woman, you teach a nation.โ€

A heartfelt thank you to the FIDE Womenโ€™s Commission for their vision, support, and funding, which enabled participants to attend the course free of charge. By investing in women educators, we are helping build a stronger, more inclusive future for chess worldwide.

โœจ The journey continues! Applications remain open for the upcoming courses:

๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท French Course: 3โ€“5 July 2025
๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Spanish Course: 7โ€“9 August 2025

Women interested in becoming certified chess educators are encouraged to apply and join this growing global network of leaders, teachers, and role models.

Together, we are not only teaching chessโ€”we are shaping the future of the game.

Congratulations to all participants who are receiving their FIDE School Instructor title certificates today!

Participants have now received an official certification from FIDE (the International Chess Federation), the world governing body for chess, confirming their knowledge and qualifications to promote chess education in schools and other learning environments.

The program emphasizes that chess is much more than a gameโ€”it is a powerful educational tool. Teachers of mathematics, social sciences, geography, physical education, chess instructors, and professionals from various fields can use chess to develop critical thinking, concentration, creativity, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Each certificate represents a commitment to innovative, high-quality education, where chess supports the holistic development of children and young people.

โ€œChess educates, inspires, and transforms lives.โ€ โ™Ÿ๏ธ๐ŸŽ“

๐Ÿ”ŠGlobal Launch: FIDE Preparation of Teachers course for Women Around the World ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ

Together with the FIDE Educational Commission, the FIDE Womenโ€™s Commission is launching the FIDE Preparation of Teachers Course for Women Around the World - a global initiative designed to support women in chess and help shape the future of the game.

โœจThroughout March - through the initiative "Chess Womenโ€™s Day Celebration 2026: Visible, Connected, Worldwide" - we have seen how powerful visibility, connection, and community can be. This new program builds on that momentum by investing in women as chess teachers - because teachers shape generations, and the presence of female role models has a lasting impact on how young players, especially girls, experience the game and themselves.

For the first time, this course is offered exclusively for women, creating a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to a more inclusive chess world.

๐Ÿ“… 4 courses | ๐ŸŒ 4 languages
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Limited to 20 participants per course (max. 2 per country)
๐Ÿ—“ Registration deadline: one week before each course

โ™Ÿ๏ธ๐ŸŒ Overseas Family School: A Model for Educational Chess in Singapore

As part of the 2026 FIDE Year of Chess in Education, the FIDE EDU Commission continues promoting the value of chess as a powerful educational tool in schools around the world.

A delegation of educators, instructors, and federation representatives recently visited Overseas Family School (OFS) in Singapore โ€” a leading international school with nearly 3000 students from over 70 countries. Recognized with the FIDE Gold School Award in 2024, OFS has become a global model for successfully integrating chess into education to develop critical thinking, creativity, and 21st century skills.

This inspiring visit provided valuable insights into how chess can enhance learning both inside and outside the classroom.
