Prime Minister and leader of the Cook Islands Party, Hon. Mark Brown will table the Cook Islands’ largest-ever national budget tomorrow afternoon, featuring a $3 million boost to social welfare payments, increased ministry funding and an allocation for the upcoming general election. According to documents released on the Cook Islands Parliament website, total expenditure earmarked for the 2026/27 National Budget (Appropriation Bill 2026) is set at $375,871,040

THE Cook Islands is bucking the global trend by expanding its flight connectivity, Deputy Prime Minister Albert Nicholas told delegates at the opening of ASPA’s 44th AGM and 81st General Session conference today.
Speaking at the event hosted in the Cook Islands, Nicholas welcomed international partners under the conference theme “Island Economics,” emphasising that for Pacific Island nations, aviation and tourism are inseparable.
