The Pacific Community Outreach Hui was held via Zoom on 25 November and was chaired by the Office of the Ombudsman Samoa, led by Tupuola Toetu Tuia alongside the Engagement and Communication Unit team, Gagau Jerry Ah Kee and Michael Tamanikaiyaroi.

The Hui was joined by representatives from the Te Mato Akamoeau - Office of the Ombudsman Cook Islands, including Metua (Investigations Officer) and Ombudsman Nikki Rattle, as well as representatives from the Ombudsman NZ: Lisa Zhang, Marty B, Lei Mikaele (Senior Pacific Engagement Advisor), and Lucy Payne (Programme Officer).

This gathering provided an opportunity to strengthen regional collaboration, share insights, and continue building cross-Pacific partnerships.

🌍🤝 Ombudsman Niki Rattle meets with Ambassador Ard van der Vorst

During his recent visit to Rarotonga, Netherlands Ambassador Ard van der Vorst met with Ombudsman Niki Rattle to discuss the importance of strong oversight, transparency, and accountable governance in the Cook Islands.

The meeting highlighted the vital role of the Ombudsman’s Office as an independent institution safeguarding fairness, human rights, and trust in public administration.

We thank Ambassador van der Vorst for recognising the importance of this work and for his continued support towards strengthening good governance in the Pacific.
