NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO “ENDURE” VIOLENCE FOR THE CHILDREN

We often hear: “Stay for the children.”

But children also need safety.
They need homes where they can learn, sleep, grow and express themselves without fear.

Supporting a survivor does not mean telling them what decision to make.

It means helping them access safety, information, support and choices.

Stand with survivors. Do not pressure them.

There are things we can do to support our overall health, including staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding to***co and limiting alcohol.

But let's also be clear:

A healthy lifestyle does not guarantee that someone will never develop breast cancer.

And if someone develops cancer, it is not their fault.

Let's promote healthy choices without blaming people for illness.

We all have reasons for postponing things.

“I'll go next week.”

“I've been too busy.”

“Maybe it will disappear.”

But when it comes to a breast change that concerns you, don't keep putting it off.

Getting checked doesn't mean you have cancer.

It simply means you're taking your health seriously.

Make the call.
Ask the question.
Get checked.

Children can be deeply affected by violence in the home even when the violence is not directed at them.

They may experience fear, anxiety, insecurity, behavioural changes or difficulties at school and in relationships.

Children deserve homes where conflict is resolved without violence.

Let us protect children by creating safe, nurturing and respectful families.

Did you know?

🌹 An estimated 2.4 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide in 2024.

🌹 Around 694,000 women died from the disease that year.

🌹 Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide.

🌹 Men can develop breast cancer too.

Behind these numbers are real people, families facing uncertainty, women navigating treatment and loved ones hoping for better outcomes.

This Pink October let's learn the warning signs, challenge harmful myths, encourage people to seek medical advice when they notice unusual breast changes, and advocate for affordable, timely and quality cancer care.

A breast lump does not automatically mean cancer, but it should not be ignored. Early assessment can make a difference.

Every story is unique. Every journey matters.

❓ Do I know the signs of breast cancer?
❓ Do I know where I can seek breast health services?
❓ Would I seek medical advice if I noticed a change?
❓ Would I support someone diagnosed with breast cancer without judgment?

Awareness becomes meaningful when it leads to action.

MEN AND BOYS ARE PART OF THE SOLUTION

Ending domestic violence requires everyone.

Men and boys can:
✅ Challenge harmful gender norms
✅ Reject violence as a form of control
✅ Model respectful relationships
✅ Teach boys that strength does not mean domination
✅ Speak out when they witness harmful behaviour
✅ Support survivors without blaming them

Real strength is not controlling or hurting someone. Real strength is choosing respect, responsibility and non-violence.

Domestic violence leaves wounds that are not always visible. Behind the fear, insults, threats and control, is pain, anxiety, sleepless nights and emotional scars that others never see.

Too often, survivors are told to keep quiet, endure or protect the family's reputation. But no one should have to sacrifice their mental well-being to keep a relationship or family together.

This World Mental Health Day, let us listen to survivors without judgment, believe their experiences and turn their voices into real action. Support survivors to feel safe, respected and heard.

Their voices matter.
Their experiences matter.
Their safety matters

Early detection can make a difference.

WHO's Global Breast Cancer Initiative emphasizes earlier diagnosis, timely diagnosis and access to comprehensive treatment as essential parts of reducing breast cancer deaths.

So when something feels or looks different:

Don't postpone.
Don't self-diagnose.
Seek care.
