On September 1, 2026, at the Binguela Practical School of Agriculture (EPAB), the Cameroon Chamber of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock and Forestry (CAPEF) signed two framework cooperation agreements with the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), Brazil.
The first agreement brings together the Practical School of Agriculture and Wood of Ambam (EPABA) and UFPA. It focuses in particular on training, the exchange of expertise, technology transfer, and cooperation in the fields of agriculture and wood. It notably paves the way for exchanges between students, teachers, and researchers, as well as joint training and skills-transfer initiatives.
The second agreement links the Centre for the Improvement and Development of Fisheries Activities (CADAHC), EPAB, and UFPA. It covers training, research, skills transfer, and capacity building in the agropastoral and fisheries sectors. The planned activities may include applied research, the sharing of methods, and the implementation of joint projects.
The cooperation also aims to facilitate access for the institutions concerned to expertise, technologies, and experience developed in the areas covered by the agreements. Students, teachers, researchers, and professionals in the relevant sectors are among the beneficiaries of the exchanges and activities to be developed within this framework.
The signing ceremony was preceded by presentations from CADAHC and EPAB on their missions and areas of intervention. The various speeches focused on prospects for cooperation between Cameroonian and Brazilian institutions.
The implementation of the agreements is expected to translate these areas of cooperation into training activities, academic exchanges, research projects, and joint initiatives in the fields of agriculture, wood, agropastoral development, and fisheries.
