Our student Juan José Paternina celebrated his first championship title last Sunday, September 20, with his team, Alianza Valledupar FC, at the Valle de Campeones tournament in the city of Valledupar.

Juan José’s parents expressed their gratitude to Colegio Albania for the support provided to him in pursuing his sporting commitments while maintaining a healthy balance between his academic and athletic development.

They also extended a special recognition to Mr. Álvaro Mendoza and Mr. Héctor Martínez for their valuable contributions and support, which have played an important role in Juan José’s growth.

👏⚽ At Colegio Albania, we are proud to celebrate this achievement and to support our students as they pursue their dreams and goals.

Nuestro estudiante Juan José Paternina celebró el pasado domingo 20 de septiembre su primer título junto a su equipo, Alianza Valledupar FC, en el torneo Valle de Campeones, realizado en la ciudad de Valledupar.

Como familia, sus padres expresaron su agradecimiento al Colegio Albania por el apoyo brindado a Juan José para continuar desarrollando sus compromisos deportivos, manteniendo siempre un equilibrio entre su formación académica y deportiva.

Asimismo, extendieron un reconocimiento especial a Mr. Álvaro Mendoza y Mr. Héctor Martínez por sus aportes y acompañamiento, que han sido importantes para el crecimiento de Juan José.

A proud moment for Colegio Albania

Sebastián Vargas, a seventh-grade student at Colegio Albania, was selected by Corporación Piano Academy to perform as a soloist at the Mozart Festival, held on September 13, 2026, at the Tecnológico de Artes Débora Arango in Medellín.

Sebastián performed Concerto No. 8, K. 246 – Second Movement, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, accompanied by the Medellín Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra. 🎼

We celebrate his talent, dedication, and commitment to music, and we are proud to see him represent our school community on such a special stage.

🎓 Exploring Opportunities for the Future

Our 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students took part in a special career exploration day with a visit from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Bogotá.

Through the Knowledge Route, students explored different academic fields, including Medicine, Law, Engineering, Economics and Business, Political Science and International Relations, and Communication and Language. In each session, Faculty Directors shared insights into student profiles, undergraduate programs, and career opportunities, helping students gain a closer look at different pathways to higher education.

The experience was tailored to each grade: 9th and 10th graders learned more about the university, its campus, academic programs, scholarship opportunities, and student life, while our 11th graders participated in a practical mock interview workshop, strengthening skills that will support their transition to higher education.

✨ A meaningful opportunity for our students to broaden their horizons, ask questions, and take a closer look at the decisions that shape their future.

Explorando oportunidades para el futuro

Nuestros estudiantes de 9°, 10° y 11° participaron en una jornada de exploración vocacional con la visita de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Bogotá.

A través de la Ruta del Conocimiento, conocieron diferentes áreas de formación como Medicina, Derecho, Ingeniería, Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas, Ciencias Políticas y Relaciones Internacionales, y Comunicación y Lenguaje. En cada espacio, los Directores de Facultad compartieron con ellos información sobre los perfiles de ingreso, programas de pregrado y posibilidades del mundo laboral.

La experiencia se adaptó a las necesidades de cada grado: mientras 9° y 10° conocieron más sobre la Universidad, su campus, programas académicos y oportunidades de becas, nuestros estudiantes de 11° participaron en un simulacro práctico de entrevista, fortaleciendo habilidades clave para su transición a la educación superior.

¡Coalbots descubre, crea y protege! | Coalbots: Discovering, creating, and protecting!
On September 5, our Coalbots participated virtually in the FIRST LEGO League UNEARTHED 2025–2026 National Robotics Competition, held in Facatativá, Cundinamarca, in the Discover category.

Led by Ms. Vanessa Imitola, the team received the Challenge Solution Recognition for a project focused on discovering treasures from the past through archaeological excavations while protecting nature. 🦴🔎🤖

👧🏻👦🏻 Helena Cataño, Emiliano Brito, Solón Deluque, Luciana Almenarez, Alicia Castilla, Sawsan Marín, Lucca Paternina, Gustavo Medrano, and Alejandro Ortega researched the work of archaeologists and designed different LEGO machines to protect fossils, artifacts, plants, animals, and the soil during excavations.

Their creations included the Tene-Cannon, Soapy Machine, brush-and-paintbrush vacuum, Archaeological Shelf, Solar Energy Train, and Fan Car. ⚙️🌱

They also created the Coalbots Nature Reserve, bringing together the exploration of the past with the importance of protecting and conserving nature. 🌳💚

Throughout the process, our students strengthened their skills in research, creativity, innovation, teamwork, listening, perseverance, and problem-solving, showing that learning and creating together can turn great ideas into meaningful solutions.

El pasado 5 de septiembre, nuestros Coalbots participaron de manera virtual en la competencia nacional de robótica FIRST LEGO League UNEARTHED, temporada 2025–2026, realizada en Facatativá, Cundinamarca, en la categoría Discover.

Bajo la dirección de Ms. Vanessa Imitola, el equipo recibió el Reconocimiento a la Solución al Desafío por una propuesta enfocada en descubrir tesoros del pasado a través de excavaciones arqueológicas responsables con la naturaleza. 🦴🔎🤖

👧🏻👦🏻 Helena Cataño, Emiliano Brito, Solón Deluque, Luciana Almenarez, Alicia Castilla, Sawsan Marín, Lucca Paternina, Gustavo Medrano y Alejandro Ortega investigaron el trabajo de los arqueólogos y diseñaron diferentes máquinas LEGO para proteger fósiles, artefactos, plantas, animales y el suelo durante las excavaciones.

Entre sus creaciones se encuentran el Tene-Cañón, la Máquina Jabonosa, la aspiradora con brocha y pincel, el estante arqueológico, el tren de energía solar y el carro ventilador. 🌱⚙️

Además, crearon la Reserva Natural Coalbots, una propuesta que integra la exploración del pasado con el cuidado y la conservación de la naturaleza. 🌳💚

A través de este proceso, nuestros estudiantes fortalecieron habilidades de investigación, creatividad, innovación, trabajo en equipo, escucha, perseverancia y resolución de problemas, demostrando que aprender y crear juntos puede transformar grandes ideas en soluciones.

We proudly congratulate our student Emma Almenarez, from Grade 5A, on her outstanding participation in the G3 National Tennis Tournament in Cúcuta, held from September 9–14. 🎾🏆

Emma demonstrated her talent, commitment, and determination on the court, achieving remarkable results:

¡Pista, talento y mucho corazón! | Skating, talent, and lots of heart!

Our Artistic Skating Team proudly took part in the 2nd District Novice Festival, held in Bogotá from September 3–6. 🛼✨

Beyond the results, we celebrate an even greater achievement: seeing our athletes enjoy their first festival with confidence and joy, overcome stage fright, and step onto the rink with the confidence of those who truly love what they do.

🏆 Outstanding results: Camila Morro Vélez earned 1st place in the Pre-Tots Skills Test, while Victoria del Carmen Atencio Aroca placed 8th in the Mini category. Natalia Medina Saldaña achieved 5th place in the C Infantil Free Program, and several of our athletes also earned strong placements across the C Mini and C Tots categories.

Every performance was an opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy the journey. We are incredibly proud of our athletes for taking this important first step in their skating journey! 💙✨

Nuestras deportistas de la selección de patinaje artístico brillaron en el 2.º Festival Distrital de Novatos, realizado en Bogotá del 3 al 6 de septiembre. 💙

We are proud to celebrate the participation of our students in the 2026 Caribbean Chess Tournament, a high-level competition that brought together young chess talents from across the region.

To reach this important in-person stage, our athletes competed in a virtual phase with nearly 7,000 participants, earning their place among those selected to continue in the competition. Reaching this stage is already an achievement worth celebrating! 👏

🌟 A special congratulations to Massimo Schettini, who became the U-12 champion and earned his place in the Caribbean Tournament Grand Final. His achievement reflects his talent, preparation, discipline, and commitment. 🏆♟️

We also congratulate Emiliano Brito, Nicolas Barrios, and Salomón Juliao for representing Colegio Albania and gaining valuable competitive experience that will contribute to their continued growth as chess players.

Every tournament is an opportunity to learn, take on challenges, compete, and grow. We are proud of our four representatives for carrying the name of Colegio Albania to this important regional chess event.

Nos llena de orgullo celebrar la participación de nuestros estudiantes en el Torneo del Caribe de Ajedrez 2026, una competencia de gran nivel que reunió a jóvenes talentos del ajedrez de la región.

Para llegar a esta importante fase presencial, nuestros deportistas superaron una fase virtual con cerca de 7.000 participantes, logrando estar entre los seleccionados para continuar en competencia. Por eso, cada uno de nuestros representantes ya es un ganador. 👏
