In 1995, Dolly Parton founded the Imagination Library in her home county in Tennessee, inspired by her father, who never had the opportunity to learn to read or write. Through this incredible program, children receive a free, age-appropriate book in the mail every month from birth until age five, regardless of their family’s income.

By 2025, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library had gifted more than 250 million books, putting stories directly into the hands and homes of millions of children and encouraging a love of reading from the very beginning. 📚💗

Join us on Friday, September 25th at 4:30pm at the library for our Dolly Parton Appreciation Day, as we celebrate her wonderful contribution to children’s literacy!

We’ll enjoy story time featuring some of Dolly’s books and, in honour of her famously glamorous, sparkly and unapologetically over-the-top style, we’ll be bedazzling accessories! ✨💎
Come ready to read, create and add a little Dolly sparkle! 💖📚✨

Happy Birthday to Brenna Jean! 🥳✨
Since day one of the Tamarindo Children’s Community Library, Brenda has been the person who keeps things running — the systems, the schedules, the “okay everyone, we need to talk” moments that actually get things done. We’d be a lot more chaotic without her.
Thank you for everything you do. Hope today is a great one! 📚
