491st Military Police Det 2 is a 18 man detachment from the 491st MP co in Riverside, Ca.
We are deployed to GTMo, Cuba in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Congratulations to the entire 491st MP CO, Detachment 2. We had our Transfer of Authority Ceremony today and have officially passed the torch onto our replacements, the 342nd MP CO, Detachment 1. Mission Successfully Completed!!!

We did it! We have completed our last Commissions detail. We're close, but we're not done here yet.
We'd also like to welcome our replacements, the detachment from the 342nd MP CO out of Columbus, Ohio. They're very motivated and eager to learn.

Some of you may have heard about the major flooding and deaths in Havana, Cuba. Rest assured, there is no such flooding or any weather issue here in GTMO.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and family back in the U.S.! As you can see, we've managed to cook up our own little Thanksgiving Dinner here while on deployment. The food and company were excellent. We're already planning to see what culinary tricks we can pull off for Christmas dinner.
