Il diritto per tutti i cittadini europei a non essere costretti a lasciare il proprio paese e le strategie nazionali ed europee per incentivare lo sviluppo dei territori con necessità specifiche, come le isole, sono stati al centro dell'odierno Consiglio Informale dell'UE sulle politiche di coesione. Ho partecipato con grande interesse alla riunione, in rappresentanza dell'Italia.

The right of all European citizens not to be forced to leave their country, and the national and European strategies to promote the development of territories with specific needs, such as islands, were at the centre of today's Informal EU Council on Cohesion Policy. I participated with great interest in the meeting, representing Italy.

The European Union National Institutes for Culture in Cyprus (EUNIC), in collaboration with the Friends of Cinema Society, proudly present EUROPE IN CINEMA, a year-long film series celebrating the diversity of European cinema throughout 2026.
As part of the series, the Embassy of Italy in Cyprus invites you to the screening of the film “Zamora” (2023), directed by Neri Marcoré.

Combining culture and the use of AI, new technologies and the protection of rights to ensure that human beings remain at the centre of the creative process. Fundamental was the debate among EU Culture Ministers, at which I had the pleasure and honour of representing Minister Alessandro Giuli.

🎬 Cinema Wednesdays 2026 | “Sudditalia”

L’Ambasciata d’Italia a Cipro è felice di promuovere la proiezione del documentario “Sudditalia” di Adamo Mastrangelo, un’opera che invita a riflettere sulle trasformazioni economiche e sociali del Mezzogiorno italiano negli ultimi settant’anni.

Attraverso testimonianze, analisi e storie di vita, il documentario esplora il rapporto tra Nord e Sud Italia, soffermandosi in particolare sulle esperienze delle nuove generazioni che hanno lasciato il Sud in cerca di opportunità o che hanno scelto di farvi ritorno, in un racconto che intreccia identità, appartenenza e prospettive future.

🎬 Cinema Wednesdays 2026 | “Sudditalia”

The Embassy of Italy in Cyprus is pleased to promote the screening of “Sudditalia”, a documentary directed by Adamo Mastrangelo that offers a thought-provoking exploration of the social and economic realities of Southern Italy.

Through personal stories, testimonies and historical analysis, the film examines the long-standing divide between Northern and Southern Italy, focusing in particular on the experiences of younger generations who have left the South in search of new opportunities or have chosen to return to their homeland. A compelling reflection on identity, belonging and the pursuit of a better future.
