24 women from all over the world that made a change, In the UN world.
Throughout its history, women have played pivotal roles in shaping the United Nations and advocating for global change. Based on UN records, including initiatives on "HERstory," here are 24 women who have made significant contributions:
Founders & Early Advocates: Eleanor Roosevelt (USA), who chaired the Human Rights Commission and helped draft the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; Minerva Bernardino (Dominican Republic), Bertha Lutz (Brazil), and Jessie Street (Australia), who were instrumental in ensuring gender equality was embedded in the UN Charter.
Pioneering Leaders: Marie-Hélène Lefaucheux (France), who proposed the UN Commission on the Status of Women; Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit (India), the first female UN General Assembly President; Agda Rössel (Sweden), first female permanent representative; and Helvi Sipilä (Finland), the first female Assistant Secretary-General.
Key UN Roles: Jeanne Martin Cissé (Guinea), first female Security Council president; Louise Fréchette (Canada), first Deputy Secretary-General; Mary Robinson (Ireland) and Navi Pillay (South Africa), who served as High Commissioners for Human Rights; and Gertrude Mongella (Tanzania), who led the Beijing women's conference.
Advocates & Specialized Roles: Angie E. Brooks-Randolf (Liberia), who led the Trusteeship Council; Radhika Coomaraswamy (Sri Lanka), advocate for children and armed conflict; Zainab Bangura (Sierra Leone), UN representative on sexual violence; and Kristin Lund (Norway), the first female UN Force Commander.
Modern Global Voices: Malala Yousafzai (Pakistan), advocate for girls' education; Nadia Murad (Iraq), Nobel laureate and advocate against trafficking; Amina Mohammed (Nigeria), UN Deputy Secretary-General; Michelle Bachelet (Chile), former head of UN Women; Inna Modja (Mali), climate activist; Muzoon Almellehan (Syria), education advocate; and Greta Thunberg (Sweden), climate activist.

Credentials of the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway presented to President Christodoulides
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway Harriet E. Berg had the honor of presenting her Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides.
Ambassador Berg looks forward to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Norway and Cyprus.
