Με ιδιαίτερη χαρά συμμετείχαμε, για τρίτη συνεχή χρονιά, στο Doers Summit 2026 στη Λεμεσό, μία από τις σημαντικότερες διοργανώσεις τεχνολογίας, καινοτομίας και επιχειρηματικότητας στην ευρύτερη περιοχή της Μεσογείου.
Η φετινή διοργάνωση συγκέντρωσε περισσότερους από 10.000 ιδρυτές εταιρειών, στελέχη επιχειρήσεων, επενδυτές, ερευνητές και φορείς χάραξης πολιτικής από περισσότερες από 50 χώρες, επιβεβαιώνοντας τον ολοένα και πιο ουσιαστικό ρόλο της Κύπρου ως περιφερειακού κόμβου τεχνολογίας, ψηφιακής καινοτομίας και κυβερνοασφάλειας.
Το Γραφείο του Επιτρόπου Επικοινωνιών, μέσω του NCC-CY / ΑΨΑ, είχε την ευκαιρία να παρουσιάσει και να ενημερώσει το κοινό για σημαντικές εθνικές και ευρωπαϊκές πρωτοβουλίες στους τομείς της κυβερνοασφάλειας και της ψηφιακής ανθεκτικότητας, με έμφαση στα εξής:

We were pleased to participate, for the third consecutive year, in the Doers Summit 2026 in Limassol, one of the leading technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship gatherings in the Mediterranean region.
This year’s Summit brought together more than 10,000 founders, executives, investors, researchers, and policymakers from over 50 countries, further reinforcing Cyprus’ growing role as a regional hub for technology, digital innovation, and cybersecurity.
The Office of the Commissioner of Communications, through NCC-CY / DSA, had the opportunity to engage with stakeholders and raise awareness on key national and European cybersecurity initiatives, with a particular focus on:

Petros Galides: Global Digital Governance Depends on Cooperation, Trust and Smart Regulation
During his featured interview at the ITU Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-26), Petros Galides, Deputy Commissioner of Communications, underscored the critical importance of international cooperation, trusted governance frameworks, and agile regulation in addressing the challenges of the rapidly evolving digital era.
Speaking on the future of digital governance, Mr Galides highlighted that emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity systems, and digital infrastructures require regulators and policymakers to move beyond isolated approaches and embrace stronger global collaboration.
“No regulator, institution or country can effectively navigate these challenges alone,” Mr Galides noted. “Cooperation is no longer optional — it is essential.”
Referring to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR), Mr Galides described them as indispensable international platforms that bring together regulators, governments, policymakers, industry leaders and international organisations to develop practical, forward-looking regulatory approaches.
He stressed that trusted dialogue and coordinated action are now fundamental pillars of digital governance, particularly as societies face increasingly complex technological and security challenges.
“As we navigate the digital frontier, our responsibility as regulators is clear: to ensure that innovation serves people, trust underpins progress, and cooperation shapes a secure, inclusive and sustainable digital future,” he stated.
Mr Galides further emphasised that the regulators most capable of succeeding in the coming years will be those able to adapt quickly and cooperate effectively across borders and sectors.
“In the digital age, the regulators that will excel are the regulators who can cooperate faster than their challenges evolve,” he said.
During the interview, he also highlighted the growing role of regulatory innovation tools such as regulatory sandboxes and AI-assisted regulatory mechanisms, describing them as essential instruments for testing policy decisions in controlled environments and improving evidence-based regulation.
Mr Galides additionally underlined the importance of regional regulatory associations in translating global digital policies into practical regional and national implementation strategies, while praising the ITU’s role in facilitating technical cooperation, knowledge-sharing and capacity-building among regulators worldwide.
The interview further reinforced Mr Galides’ international profile as a respected strategic regulatory leader in the field of digital governance and telecommunications policy, while highlighting the active contribution of Cyprus, EMERG, and the ITU Digital Regulators Network (DRN) in shaping the next generation of global digital regulation.

Κύπρος και Γεωργία Ενισχύουν τη Ρυθμιστική Συνεργασία μέσω Νέας Διμερούς Συμφωνίας
Στο περιθώριο του GSR-26, το Γραφείο του Επιτρόπου Επικοινωνιών και Ταχυδρομικών Ρυθμίσεων Κύπρου (ΓΕΡΗΕΤ) και η Εθνική Επιτροπή Επικοινωνιών της Γεωργίας (ComCom) υπέγραψαν Μνημόνιο Συναντίληψης (MoU) με στόχο την ενίσχυση της διμερούς συνεργασίας στον τομέα της ψηφιακής ρύθμισης.
Η συμφωνία αντικατοπτρίζει την κοινή δέσμευση των δύο αρχών για στενότερη συνεργασία σε τομείς όπως:
• Κυβερνοασφάλεια
• Διακυβέρνηση Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης
• Ανθεκτικότητα υποδομών
• Προστασία καταναλωτών
• Βέλτιστες ρυθμιστικές πρακτικές• Ψηφιακός μετασχηματισμός
Ο Βοηθός Επίτροπος Επικοινωνιών Πέτρος Γαλίδης δήλωσε:
«Ισχυρά ψηφιακά οικοσυστήματα οικοδομούνται όχι μόνο μέσω υποδομών, αλλά και μέσω σχέσεων εμπιστοσύνης και συνεργασίας.»
Ο κ. Γαλίδης υπογράμμισε περαιτέρω ότι οι ρυθμιστικές αρχές που είναι καλύτερα προετοιμασμένες για το μέλλον είναι εκείνες που μπορούν να συνεργάζονται και να προσαρμόζονται ταχύτερα από όσο εξελίσσεται η τεχνολογία.
Το Μνημόνιο αποτελεί ένα σημαντικό βήμα για την επέκταση των διεθνών ρυθμιστικών συνεργασιών της Κύπρου και την ενίσχυση της πρακτικής συνεργασίας σε ολόκληρη την Ευρώπη και τις γειτονικές περιοχές.

Cyprus and Georgia Strengthen Regulatory Cooperation through New Bilateral Agreement
On the sidelines of GSR-26, the Office of the Commissioner of Electronic Communications and Postal Regulation of Cyprus (OCECPR) and the Georgian National Communications Commission (ComCom) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of digital regulation.
The agreement reflects the shared commitment of both authorities to closer collaboration in areas including:
• Cybersecurity
• Artificial Intelligence governance
• Infrastructure resilience
• Consumer protection
• Regulatory best practices• Digital transformation
Deputy Commissioner of Communications Petros Galides stated:
“Strong digital ecosystems are built not only through infrastructure, but through trusted partnerships.”
Mr Galides further emphasised that regulators best positioned for future success are those capable of cooperating and adapting faster than technology evolves.
The MoU marks an important step in expanding Cyprus’ international regulatory partnerships and enhancing practical cooperation across Europe and neighbouring regions.
