The EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) provides safe and performant space services, enabling synergies, EU innovation, sustainability, and security. To achieve this, EUSPA manages the Galileo and EGNOS programmes, develops markets for Copernicus services and data, is involved in secure satcom (GOVSATCOM & IRIS2), and carries out work in various areas targeted at Security, Research and Development and increasing space’s contribution to the EU Market. The Agency is also responsible for the security accreditation of all the components of the EU Space Programme. EUSPA also operates the Front Desk, protecting more than 400 satellites from the risk of collision with space debris or other operational satellites.

EUSPA, together with Ground Control Segment prime contractor GMV and with the support of Indra Group, has brought into service 2 new Telemetry, Telecommand and Control Facilities (TTCF) in the Galileo Ground Segment: TTCF-5 in Redu, Belgium, and TTCF-8 in Fucino, Italy.

The two stations are the first in the Galileo Control Segment to be equipped with the new Monitoring & Control (M&C) 7.2 infrastructure, developed by ESA - European Space Agency in coordination with EUSPA as the future standard for the Galileo TTCF network.

EUSPA’s Administrative Board welcomes a new member from Iceland

Iceland’s participation marks a new chapter in the European Union’s space cooperation. Thanks to its unique geography, particularly its volcanic landscapes, and scientific expertise, the country plays a distinctive role in space-related research and innovation.

Nationals of Iceland are already eligible to apply for employment and traineeship opportunities at EUSPA, subject to the applicable selection criteria.

Iceland's participation in EUSPA's Administrative Board allows the country to be represented in the Agency's governance discussions as a non-voting member, contributing its perspectives and expertise to discussions on EUSPA's activities and strategic priorities.
