MWO-Prague, headed by Labor Attaché Atty. Llewelyn D. Perez, conducted a Labor Outreach Activity attended by approximately 80 Filipino workers, providing employment contract verification and counselling services. The activity was held in conjunction with the Filipino Oktoberfest Celebration, which gathered around 600 participants from the Filipino community in the Karlovy Vary Region for a day of friendship, cultural celebration, and camaraderie.

In her message, Labor Attaché Perez emphasized the importance of building strong Filipino communities as support groups for OFWs, highlighting how community solidarity, mutual assistance, and active participation in local activities contribute to their well-being and successful integration into Czech society. She encouraged kababayans to look after one another, strengthen their connections with the local community, and embrace Czech culture while preserving their Filipino identity and values.

MWO Prague commends the organizers and volunteers for fostering the spirit of bayanihan, unity, and belonging among Filipinos in the Czech Republic.

With 142 Filipino workers in attendance, the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) – Prague, together with the Philippine Embassy in Prague and OWWA-Prague, successfully conducted the Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS), Consular and Labor Outreach in Brno.

Labor Attaché Llewelyn D. Perez led the discussion on MWO-Prague's programs and services, highlighting the Office's continuing commitment to protecting the rights and promoting the welfare of Filipino migrant workers. The program also featured an overview of consular services by Consul Angella G. Alfafara and an orientation on OWWA programs and benefits by Welfare Officer Emer Janette P. Bamba. Ms. Alena Krejčí, Director of the Centre for Foreigners of the South Moravian Region introduced essential integration and support services available to Filipino workers.

Participants also availed themselves of consular assistance, overseas voter registration, Balik-Manggagawa employment contract verification, and OWWA membership registration and renewal.

Representatives of the Lithuanian Trade Union Alliance also joined the discussion on improving coordination and assistance for Filipino workers.

MWO Prague raised the importance of sharing information with Lithuanian authorities to help address workers’ concerns and protect their rights.
