Today is World Oceans Day 🌊
As a Pacific nation, New Zealand is deeply connected to the ocean (moana).
Our exclusive economic zone is one of the largest in the world, covering an area more than 15 times our landmass.
The seafood sector generates around NZD 5 billion in economic output each year and supports communities across the country. 🐟
Our oceans connect us to each other and to the rest of the world, including Germany. New Zealand and Germany also work together on ocean and climate research in Antarctica, contributing to a deeper understanding of our oceans.

Deputy Ambassador Ross Batchelor joined NZDF Air Commodore Andy Scott and Defence Attaché Wing Commander Heather PAirbusn a recent visit to Airbus production facilities in Hamburg, where the 's two new A321XLR aircraft will be built in 2027.
The aircraft will be used to support New Zealand's military operations, humanitarian and disaster relief work, NZDF's Antarctica operations and trade & diplomatic missions, and based with 40 Squadron at Whenuapai.
A great opportunity to understand the complexity of producing modern aircraft and Airbus' impressive assembly lines.
Another great example of 🇳🇿🤝🇩🇪 partnership.

This ceremony marks the official beginning of her role, representing New Zealand in Germany and further strengthening the close relationship between our two countries.

The relationship between New Zealand and Germany is close and longstanding.

A taste of New Zealand in Berlin! 🍽️
On Wednesday, a great evening of agrifood diplomacy was under way at the Hungarian Embassy with the Agrardiplomaten network.
New Zealand showed up strong, becoming a fan-favourite with golden kiwifruit, NZ venison and NZ wine, with Special Agricultural Trade Envoy Nathan Guy representing. 🥝🦌🍷
A highlight was his meeting with German Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture Alois Rainer. 🇳🇿🤝🇩🇪
Thanks to and Deer Industry New Zealand for showing what New Zealand has to offer!
