Hohenfels Middle High School will be offering su***de prevention training through the SOS Signs of Su***de Prevention Program. Students will participate in a presentation that includes videos and guided discussions led by members of our mental health team, including our school psychologist, counselor, nurse, and/or administrators. These lessons will take place during Seminar classes between September 29 and October 7.
Information about the program, along with an opt-out form (due by Friday, September 25), was distributed in an email from Dr. Johnson on September 8 and was also included in the weekly parent newsletter.
Additional information for parents and guardians can be found on the SOS program website: https://sossignsofsu***de.org/parents/

From the desk of Mr. Renninger:

Dear HMHS Parents,
This Thursday, September 24, we will be hosting our annual Homecoming Bonfire! The parade begins at 18:55 in the school’s courtyard and will end at the Festplatz. At 19:00, the fire will be lit and the fundraising booths will open. We wanted to pass along a few housekeeping items for Thursday.
If your student is marching in the parade with JROTC, they need to report to the JROTC room in their uniforms at 17:00. Major Reynolds will be the point of contact for those cadets once they report.
If your student is marching with the band, they need to report to the band room at 18:00. Ms. Murphree will be the point of contact for those musicians once they report.
If your student is planning to walk with their grade-level banner for the parade, they may report to the school no earlier than 18:00. The banners will be judged at 18:30, with the parade beginning at 18:55.
Students who are participating in an HMHS athletic practice on Thursday must stay for study hall and report to practice at their normal time. They must leave the school after practice. They may return no earlier than 18:00 (unless they are marching with JROTC).
Students who are not participating in an HMHS athletic practice on Thursday must leave the building at dismissal (13:50) and may return no earlier than 18:00 (unless they are marching with JROTC). We will not allow students to remain in the building after dismissal.
The fundraising booths will open after the fire is lit. There will be food, drinks, and other items available for purchase. All money raised will go right back into the HMHS clubs and teams. The booths will accept Euro and USD. There will NOT be an option for credit cards.
We will provide fest tables and benches. You are also welcome to bring your own seating.
All community members are invited! Attendees do not have to have a student enrolled at HMHS in order to enjoy the fun. DJ Biscuit will be playing music for us throughout the evening. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy fall weather with your friends and family.
Please plan accordingly for the weather. Please also speak with your HMHS student about the plan for dismissal and their return to the school (if this applies to them). It is going to be an amazing evening! We hope to see you all there.
