Recently another article from our lab about the function of Hsp90aa1.2 during PGC migration was published in Developmental Biology. Have a look!
Rapid progression through the cell cycle ensures efficient migration of primordial germ cells – The role of Hsp90
Zebrafish primordial germ cells (PGCs) constitute a useful in vivo model to study cell migration and to elucidate the role of specific proteins in thi…

At the end of last year another work from our lab was published in Developmental Cell. This study is about the fate maintenance of the PGCs when lacking the dead end protein. Here you can read more about it:

The Vertebrate Protein Dead End Maintains Primordial Germ Cell Fate by Inhibiting Somatic Differentiation
Primordial germ cells (PGCs) maintain their fate during their migration within the embryo. Through monitoring PGCs in live zebrafish embryos, Gross-Thebing et al. uncover a key role for the vertebrate-specific RNA-binding protein Dead end (Dnd) in protecting and maintaining germ cell fate. Dnd-defi....

At the end of November our lab published an article in Developmental cell on the Membrane of the PGCs. Have a look at it!

Bleb Expansion in Migrating Cells Depends on Supply of Membrane from Cell Surface Invaginations
Blebs are cellular protrusions that play key roles in a range of physiological and disease processes. Employing the primordial germ cells of zebrafish as an in vivo model for cell migration, Goudarzi et al. show that the rapid expansion of protrusions of this type depends on unfolding of membrane .....
