Congratulations National Canadian Film Day for another spectacular celebration of Canadian film. Coast to coast to coast and around the world. 2000+ screenings. 150+ special guests. Tens of thousands of audience members. Hundreds of Canadian communities and 49 countries.
Here in Copenhagen we were thrilled to screen ‘Grizzlies’ and to have the director Miranda de Pencier join us for a truly poignant conversation about the challenges making the film which is based on the true story of an Inuit community in Canada’s north. De Pencier is also the executive producer of the successful CBC /Netflix series North of North, which has found a broad international audience especially in Greenland.

Ahead of International Women’s Day, Ambassador Bennett attended the 2026 Gender Diversity Roundtable at UN City, alongside members of the Copenhagen diplomat community. A gathering focused on advancing inclusion and access to justice across sectors.
The event brought together leaders, experts, and advocates to explore how equal access to opportunities and everyday inclusive leadership can accelerate progress toward gender equality. It was an inspiring forum with thoughtful reflections from UN Women, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Nordic private‑sector leaders, and public-sector voices such as Ministry of Finance of Denmark.
Inspiring remarks on inclusive leadership — the kind of leadership embodied by UN leaders like Dr. Hans Kluge, Regional Director for Europe at the World Health Organization. While visiting the UN City Copenhagen, Ambassador Bennett met Dr. Kluge, who marked International Women’s Day with a simple but powerful gesture: offering roses to women colleagues and visitors in recognition of their contributions.
Happy International Women's Day!
