BOYCOTT BLACK FRIDAY
🗓️15.30 - 17:00 Friday, November 28th
📍Illum Strøget (can we say more specifically)
According to UNEP, one truckload of textile waste is dumped every second.
‼️Say no to competitive consumerism and impulse buying‼️
Join Degrowth Copenhagen’s street action in one of Copenhagen’s fanciest shopping malls challenging overconsumption and the oppressive systems events like Black Friday uphold.
Through communal public actions and performances, we aim to highlight the environmental and social toll of consumerism while inspiring alternative ways to find joy, fulfilment, and community.
Let’s reclaim the streets, celebrate rather than consume, and remind ourselves that today as well as all days: we are humans, not consumers.
Bring friends, your voices and demanding energy!
This one needs to be adjusted but I think could be nice to be added:
If you have any clothes that you don’t longer want to wear: we’re organizing a small exchange during the action and then want to donate the leftover items.

🔎About:
What is the prevailing stance of the Degrowth community on (generative) AI so far?

What do AI-scholars - with an intersectional perspectives - say on AI? We have asked them to join us in conversation.
We will take it from the basics. We will cover the history of AI - its different types - its ethical issues, environmental and social costs, cultural and psychological consequences and implications for our daily lives starting from labor and workplace impact.
