More medicine should be green 🥦

Every year, Amgros purchases pharmaceuticals worth more than nine billion kroner for public hospitals. So far the tenders have been about price, quality and delivery. But Amgros has also started to impose environmental requirements in the tenders.

Thanos Arvanitidis from Greece has lived in Denmark for almost 12 years. Danish friends and study-relevant work were crucial for him settling in Denmark after completing his studies. He now works in Valby at CMC Biologics, Lundbeck.

Denmark should boast a little more, says Arnab Halder in an interview with Pharma.

He grew up in Midnapore in Eastern India, obtained his PhD at DTU and currently works at Ferrosan Medical Devices in Søborg. He believes that Denmark can afford to shout a little louder about our strong life science industry to attract more foreign talent.

On a grey November day in 2013, then 24-year-old Arnab Halder landed at Copenhagen Airport. The temperature was significantly cooler than he was used to from Eastern India, where the daytime temperature is usually above 30 degrees....

There is a very long way from Santiago de Chile to Copenhagen – both in terms of distance and culture, and especially on a January day certainly also in terms of climate. .😅

Pharmadanmark turns 150 this year 😊🎈 Fortunately, much has changed since 1873. Back then our members had to endure miserable working conditions at the pharmacies – they had much to fight for in terms of getting a fair pay and tolerable working conditions.

Today, we still have things to fight for. However, the fight is about more than the most basic rights.

Now our focus is much more about how to ensure that our members retain their high value on the labor market. This requires that they can have the opportunity to keep on developing their skills.

And that their competences are being put much more into use in the healthcare system for the benefit of patients.

One thing has not changed since 1873: As a union Pharmadanmark must always be there for any member who finds themselves in a conflict with their employer.

But it is extremely important that Pharmadanmark – despite its old age – remains a living organization.

A professional community that adapts to the modern times and challenges – and sets new goals.

You will also see us doing that in 2023.
