✨ 3daysofdesign at the French Embassy! ✨
The French Embassy opens its doors for the exhibition “Resurgences: Reissues of French Design Icons”.
Learn more about some of the 20th-century designers behind these iconic pieces.

Christian Liaigre (1943-2020) was a French interior designer and architect known for his restrained aesthetic vocabulary and the quality of his favourite materials: wood, leather and bronze. His Wallis Bridge chair, created in 1982, was reissued in 2024 by Philippe Hurel.
Turenne Chevallereau (1912-1977), illustrator and furniture designer, blended applied arts and functional simplicity, pioneering modular furniture and creating iconic works like Longchamp’s logo. The TU-TU pouf, designed in 1968, was reissued in 2025 by Source Edition.
Pierre Guariche (1926-1995) was a French interior and industrial designer known for his innovative and functional furniture and lighting designs. The G1 floor lamp, which he originally designed in 1951, was reissued by Sammode in 2020, and the G10 Armchair from 1953, was reissued by Cinna in 2024.
Joseph-André Motte (1925–2013) was a French designer and interior architect. In 2025, the Mobilier national and Maison Duvivier Canapés brought to life the S3T4 collection that had remained a drawing since 1967.
Pierre Paulin (1927-2009) was a French furniture and interior designer best known for the Orange Slice Chair and for his interior design projects in the 1970s such as Pompidou’s smoking room at the Élysée Palace. The Tanis desk, designed in 1954, was reissued in 2009 by Ligne Roset
René Jean Caillette (1919-2005) was a French designer renowned for his deeply social approach and his commitment to democratize mass-produced furniture. The foldable “Trèfle” chair, prototyped in 1982 by the Mobilier national’s Research and Creation Workshop, is now reissued in the ‘Grand Palais’ edition, a special collaboration between the Réunion des Musées Nationaux and the Petits Frères des Pauvres, produced by French manufacturer Rodet / Fermob.

🎬🇫🇷 Franske Film Mandage præsenterer: “Enzo”
16-årige Enzo er murerlærling i La Ciotat. Presset af sin far, som hellere så ham tage en videregående uddannelse, forsøger den unge man at slippe væk fra de komfortable, men kvælende rammer i familiens villa. Det er på byggepladserne i mødet med Vlad, en ukrainsk kollega, at Enzo begynder at ane en ny horisont.

🔹 Néstor Basterretxea (1924-2014) was a major Spanish Basque artist and designer and a key figure in the Basque cultural avant-garde of the 1960s. In 2025, Alki reissued one of his iconic 1961 pieces: the “Uhin” chair.
🔹 Roger Tallon (1929-2011) was a French designer regarded as the father of French industrial design. He is known for designing the Corail trains, the Eurostar, as well as the mapping of the RER network in Paris. The C Series sofa is a rediscovered 1979-1981 design for Eurosit, reissued as a limited edition.
🔹 Pierre Chareau (1883-1950) is a French architect and designer notably known for designing France’s first ‘glass house’. His ashtray table from 1928 was reissued in 2024 by The Invisible Collection.
🔹 Rena Dumas (1937-2009) was a Greek interior architect and furniture designer, a pioneer of the modularity of private spaces who notably collaborated with Hermès. Her Okeanis table was designed in 1988 and reissued by RDAI in 2020.
🔹 RINCK is an interior architecture and design studio. Under the leadership of Maurice Rinck, contributed to the rise of the Art Deco movement. Designed in 1973 under the name Trèfle, the avant-garde TR-73 chair was reissued by RINCK in 2025.
🔹Elise Djo-Bourgeois (1894-1986) formed with Georges Djo-Bourgeois one of the emblematic duos of the French modernist movement between the wars. Rediscovered in Pierre Frey’s archives, Élise Djo-Bourgeois’ 1920s design such as “Marseille”, previously known only through black-and-white photographs, was reissued in 2023.
🔹 Serge Mouille (1922-1988) was a French industrial designer and goldsmith, best known for his light fixture designs. The “Signal grand format” floor lamp, designed in 1962 was reissued by Serge Mouille in 1999.
