DSWMC participating in the OECS 13th Council of Ministers Empowermental Sustainability Exhibition.
21/05/2026
Next week I will be taking up the Chairmanship of the OECS Council of Ministers: Environmental Sustainability (COM-ES) which serves as a vital platform for advancing regional collaboration on some of the most urgent challenges facing our islands.
For small island developing states like Dominica and our OECS neighbours, environmental sustainability is a necessity for survival, economic stability, and the well-being of future generations.
The COM-ES always create the space for leaders and policymakers to strengthen partnerships, align priorities, share solutions, and drive collective action toward building a more resilient Caribbean.
Through collaboration, innovation, and shared responsibility, we are able to better protect our ecosystems, strengthen communities against climate impacts, and create sustainable pathways for growth.
Gathering in the Nature Isle, we will reaffirm that environmental stewardship is deeply connected to people, culture, livelihoods, and resilience.
Together, we will be moving forward: stronger, united, and committed to safeguarding our region for generations to come.

The shipment contained 59 bales of recycled plastic, totaling roughly 15 tonnes. DSWMC remains dedicated to its mission of protecting our local ecosystem and reducing plastic pollution through sustainable waste management solutions.
