Africa has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international police cooperation against transnational crime, terrorism and cyberthreats.
The commitment was made at the 27th INTERPOL HQ African Regional Conference held in Cape Town recently.
During the conference, held high-level consultations with INTERPOL about the future of their partnership.

Cybercrime is one of the fastest-growing security threats in Africa. AFRIPOL is working to combat digital crimes by training law enforcement and developing policies to protect African nations from cyber threats.
In 2023, AFRIPOL held specialised workshops on cybercrime and digital forensics to help African police forces stay ahead of online criminals.

What to know about
AFRIPOL and INTERPOL work hand in hand to fight crime across Africa. The two organisations signed a cooperation agreement in 2018, allowing AFRIPOL to access INTERPOL’s global police databases.
This enhances cross-border investigations and strengthens Africa’s fight against transnational crime, including cybercrime, drug trafficking and human smuggling.
