أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي عَلَى قَلِيبٍ عَلَيْهَا دَلْوٌ، فَنَزَعْتُ مِنْهَا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا ابْنُ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ، فَنَزَعَ بِهَا ذَنُوبًا أَوْ ذَنُوبَيْنِ، وَفِي نَزْعِهِ ضَعْفٌ، وَاللَّهُ يَغْفِرُ لَهُ ضَعْفَهُ، ثُمَّ اسْتَحَالَتْ غَرْبًا، فَأَخَذَهَا ابْنُ الْخَطَّابِ، فَلَمْ أَرَ عَبْقَرِيًّا مِنَ النَّاسِ يَنْزِعُ نَزْعَ عُمَرَ، حَتَّى ضَرَبَ النَّاسُ بِعَطَنٍ ‏"‏‏.‏
Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "While I was sleeping, I saw myself standing at a well, on it there was a bucket. I drew water from the well as much as Allah wished. Then Ibn Abi Quhafa (i.e. Abu Bakr) took the bucket from me and brought out one or two buckets (of water) and there was weakness in his drawing the water. May Allah forgive his weakness for him. Then the bucket turned into a very big one and Ibn Al-Khattab took it over and I had never seen such a mighty person amongst the people as him in performing such hard work, till the people drank to their satisfaction and watered their camels that knelt down there."

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ قَوْمٌ تَسْبِقُ شَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ يَمِينَهُ وَيَمِينُهُ شَهَادَتَهُ ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ وَكَانُوا يَضْرِبُونَا عَلَى الشَّهَادَةِ وَالْعَهْدِ وَنَحْنُ صِغَارٌ‏.‏
Narrated `Abdullah: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The best people are those living in my generation, and then those who will follow them, and then those who will follow the latter. Then there will come some people who will bear witness before taking oaths, and take oaths before bearing witness." (Ibrahim, a sub-narrator said, "They used to beat us for witnesses and covenants when we were still children.")
نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ بہترین زمانہ میرا ہے ۔ پھر ان لوگوں کا جو اس زمانہ کے بعد آئیں گے پھر ان لوگوں کا جو اس کے بعد آئیں گے ۔ اس کے بعد ایک ایسی قوم پیدا ہو گی کہ گواہی دینے سے پہلے قسم ان کی زبان پر آجایا کرے گی اور قسم کھانے سے پہلے گواہی ان کی زبان پر آجایا کرے گی ۔ ابراہیم نے بیان کیا کہ جب ہم چھوٹے تھے تو گواہی اور عہد ( کے الفاظ زبان پر لانے ) کی وجہ سے ہمارے بڑے بزرگ ہم کو مارا کرتے تھے ۔
আবদুল্লাহ (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ নবী (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) বলেন, আমার উম্মাতের সর্বোত্তম মানুষ আমার যুগের মানুষ (সাহাবীগণ)। অতঃপর তৎপরবর্তী যুগ। অতঃপর তৎপরবর্তী যুগ। অতঃপর এমন লোকদের আগমন হবে যাদের কেউ সাক্ষ্য দানের পূর্বে কসম এবং কসমের পূর্বে সাক্ষ্য দান করবে। ইব্রাহীম (নাখ্‌য়ী; রাবী) বলেন, ছোট বেলায় আমাদের মুরুব্বীগণ আল্লাহ্‌র নামে কসম করে সাক্ষ্য প্রদানের জন্য এবং ওয়াদা-অঙ্গীকার করার কারণে আমাদেরকে মারধর করতেন। (আধুনিক প্রকাশনীঃ ৩৩৭৯, ইসলামী ফাউন্ডেশনঃ ৩৩৮৬).

عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏ "‏ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَيُحْسِنُ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ إِلاَّ فُتِحَتْ لَهُ ثَمَانِيَةُ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ يَدْخُلُ مِنْ أَيِّهَا شَاءَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
It was narrated that 'Umar bin Khattab said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'There is no Muslim who performs ablution and does it well, then says: Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan `abduhu wa rasuluhu (I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger),' (except that) eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him, and he will enter through whichever one he wants.'"
