مشاهير شارع محمد علي:
كان المخرجون والمنتجون يذهبون إلى شارع محمد علي لاكتشاف المواهب الموسيقية والتمثيلية الجديدة. فهناك عددًا كبيرًا من الفنانين الذين عاشوا فى هذا الشارع منهم عبد الحليم حافظ وسهير ذكى وفيفي عبده ولوسي.

سمي الشارع على اسم مؤسس مصر الحديثة محمد علي. بني الشارع في ستينيات القرن التاسع عشر كجزء من تجديد وسط المدينة من أجل تحديث القاهرة. صمم الشارع المهندس المعماري الفرنسي بارون هوسمان مصمم شوارع باريس الكبرى. سعى حاكم مصر آنذاك الخديوي إسماعيل إلى جعل مصر "قطعة من أوروبا." كان الشارع نسخة من شارع ريفولي الشهير في العاصمة الفرنسية باريس.
The street is named after the founder of modern Egypt, Mohamed Ali. It was built in the 1860s as part of a new downtown that was to modernise Cairo. The street was designed by the French architect Baron Haussmann, the designer of Paris' grand boulevards, Egypt's then-ruler Khedive Ismail sought to "make Egypt a piece of Europe." The street was merely a Cairo version of the famed Rue de Rivoli in the French capital.

عند سماع "شارع محمد علي" ، فإن عقولنا تربطه تلقائيًا بالترفيه والراقصات والموسيقي. ولكن، بعد أن قضينا أشهر نتعرف على كل زاوية في شارع محمد علي اكتشفنا أنه كنز تاريخي مخفي في وسط القاهرة فأنه يحتضن مساجد وأجزاء من التاريخ وثقافة لا حصر لها.

However, after spending months getting to know Mohamed Ali Street corner by corner, we've discovered that it's a historical hidden treasure in the middle of Cairo for all the mosques, history and culture it holds.
