The British University in Egypt Library

استقبلت مكتبة الجامعة أمس زيارة ميدانية لطالبات الفرقة الثانية بقسم المكتبات والوثائق والمعلومات بكلية الآداب – جامعة القاهرة، وذلك في إطار الجانب العملي لمقرر «تصميم وتحليل نظم المعلومات» تحت إشراف الدكتورة دعاء محمد.

وافتُتحت الزيارة بكلمة ترحيبية من الدكتور طارق محرم، مدير المكتبة، والدكتورة إلهام عبيد، نائب مدير المكتبة للخدمات الأكاديمية، حيث أكدا على أهمية تعزيز الجوانب التطبيقية والعملية لدى طلاب تخصص المكتبات والمعلومات، وربط الدراسة الأكاديمية ببيئات العمل الحقيقية داخل المكتبات الجامعية.

وركزت الزيارة بصورة أساسية على التعرف إلى عدد من المحاور التطبيقية داخل نظام إدارة المكتبات المتكامل Koha، حيث قُدمت ثلاث جلسات متخصصة شملت:
• الإعارة، وقدمتها الأستاذة زينب سيد – Assistant Librarian.
• الفهرسة، وقدمها الأستاذ محمد سعيد – Senior Specialist Cataloging Librarian.
•واختُتمت الزيارة بجلسة حول آلية عمل وحدات نظام Koha وترابطها، قدمتها الأستاذة تقى عادل – Senior System Librarian.

كما تضمنت الزيارة جولة تعريفية بخدمات المكتبة ومساحاتها المختلفة، قدّمتها الأستاذة سارة البكري، Library Outreach Supervisor.

وقد جاءت الزيارة في سياق تجربة تطبيقية تهدف إلى ربط الدراسة النظرية بالواقع المهني، من خلال إتاحة الفرصة للطالبات لمعاينة نظم المعلومات المستخدمة داخل المكتبات الأكاديمية واستكشافها عن قرب، بما يسهم في توسيع مداركهن المهنية وتعزيز قدرتهن على فهم النظم المختلفة وآليات العمل بها والتنقل بينها بصورة أكثر وعيًا واحترافية.

ويسعدنا هذا النوع من التعاون الأكاديمي البنّاء، الذي يعكس حرص القائمين على المقرر على تقديم تجربة تعليمية متكاملة لا تقتصر على الجانب النظري فحسب، بل تمتد لتشمل الجانب التطبيقي، إدراكًا لأهمية الخبرة الميدانية في إعداد كوادر مؤهلة وقادرة على التفاعل مع بيئات العمل الحقيقية.

ومن جانبنا، نؤمن دائمًا بأهمية دعم طلاب أقسام المكتبات والمعلومات والمساهمة في رحلتهم الأكاديمية والمهنية، خاصة وأن انتماء عدد من فريق عمل المكتبة إلى هذه الأقسام يمنحنا شعورًا عميقًا بالامتنان والرغبة في رد الجميل للأقسام التي كان لها يومًا دور أساسي في تشكيل مسيرتنا المهنية والأكاديمية.

On 23 April 2026, the University Library had the honour of welcoming 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗺 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺, the prominent pioneer Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Professor of Psychiatry at Tanta University.

The visit was accompanied by 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗵 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗱𝗮, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

The visit reflected the importance of strengthening academic communication and fostering collaboration between higher education institutions.

Today, the University Library had the pleasure of welcoming 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂, from Queen's University Belfast, Chair of Biofabrication and Advanced Manufacturing, Director of Internationalisation, and Director of the MSc in Industrial Pharmaceutics at the School of Pharmacy.

The visit was accompanied by our 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝘇𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱 and reflected the University’s ongoing commitment to fostering international academic collaboration and engagement.

The visit also offered a valuable opportunity for exchanging insights and highlighting the Library’s role in promoting an innovative and globally connected academic environment.

Yesterday, we were honoured to welcome 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿, Vice Chancellor of Bournemouth University, during her distinguished visit to the University Library.

The visit was accompanied by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮, Dean of Global Engagement & Strategic Partnerships at Bournemouth University, and reflected the strong spirit of international academic collaboration and institutional partnership.

During the visit, our guests explored the Library’s facilities, resources, and services, gaining insight into the learning environment and academic support offered to our University community. The visit also highlighted the Library’s ongoing commitment to excellence, innovation, and fostering global engagement in higher education.

We were pleased to welcome 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗵𝗹𝗶, University Professor at the Higher Institute of Technological Studies of Sousse (ISET Sousse, Tunisia), to the University Library yesterday.

Her visit took place on the sidelines of her participation in the IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference EDUCON 2026 Cairo. She was accompanied by 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂 𝗘𝗹-𝗦𝗲𝗼𝘂𝗱 from the Faculty of Informatics & Computer Science.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to explore the Library’s resources and services.
