Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković met with
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Sherif Fathy at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. The meeting highlighted the strong potential for tourism cooperation, with both sides expressing interest in further developing tourism ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt.
Minister Konakovic emphasized Bosnia and Herzegovina’s readiness to strengthen cooperation, promote concrete joint projects, and encourage closer cooperation between tourism sectors of the two countries. Minister Fathy noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina is an attractive destination for Egyptian tourists and highlighted the significant potential for new joint initiatives in tourism and culture.

During his visit to Cairo with • Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty, reaffirming the traditionally friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt and their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. The ministers also exchanged views on regional developments and the situation in Gaza, stressing the need for a lasting peace and a two-state solution.
On this occasion, they signed two agreements-the Protocol for Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute for Diplomatic Studies of the MFA of Egypt and the MFA of Bosnia and Herzegovina-providing a solid framework for closer institutional cooperation.
The ministers discussed the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region, emphasizing the importance of regional stability and cooperation.
Minister Konakovic briefed his counterpart on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path, underlining that EU integration remains a strategic priority, and discussed further cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, and connectivity, as well as future opportunities in the energy transition, digital economy, defence industry, agriculture, and the next-generation halal industry.

On this occasion, we would like to thank Low Cost Holidays for organizing the event, which was attended by a number of tour operators.
We also emphasize that the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cairo is not the organizer of this event, but rather accepted the kind invitation of the organizer Low Cost Holidays.
We emphasize as well that the information that Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted a visa-free regime for Egyptian citizens, which appeared in some media, is completely incorrect.

The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, praised Egypt's significant efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza, and work towards establishing a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

Chairman Bećirović received Ambassador Walid Haggag, who presented his credentials as the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Bosnia and Herzegovina, in a ceremony held at the presidential headquarters in the capital, Sarajevo.

The Egyptian ambassador conveyed President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s greetings to the Chairman of the Presidency, along with his wishes for continued progress, growth, and prosperity for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its friendly people.
