Aemet have issued and ORANGE (important) warning for all areas of the Costa Blanca for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall (up to 40mm in an hour), valid from 4pm today (Monday 20th September 2021).

No reprieve from the heat today (Sunday 15th August 2021). Costa Blanca South - RED (extreme) warning for high temperatures up to 42/43°C. Costa Blanca interior - ORANGE (important) warning for temperatures up to 42°C and Costa Blanca north - YELLOW (advisory) warning for temperatures up to 37°C. Yesterday, we recorded the highest temperature ever since the station began in 2015 at 42.4°C! Phew.... Today looks to be the same or possible higher. How does Spain look today (Saturday 14th August 2021)? Extremely hot! There are red warnings for extreme heat in many areas. Costa Blanca interior has an ORANGE (important) warning for temperatures up to 40°C. North and South coastal areas have a YELLOW (advisory) warning for temperatures as high as 37°C. The whole of Spain is looking very hot again today (Friday 13th August 2021). There are YELLOW (advisory) warnings again for 38°C in inland areas and 36° for south Costa Blanca. Those in the north are more fortunate with no warnings at the moment but for sure they are on the way as temperatures are set to hit 42-43°C on Sunday! So the heatwave begins. The sky is full of sand with little sunshine.
