Ethiopian Investment Holdings

EIH's Deputy CEO was amongst the lineup of African CEOs shedding light on EIH and the importance of cooperation amongst SWFs to attract global investment to Africa.

Rabat, Morrocco - June 24, 2022 - Investment Holdings joined the inaugural Pan-African Sovereign Wealth Fund Forum dubbed ASIF along with other nine SWFs brought together by Ithmar Capital, , Chair of , and ASIF.

EIH signed a Cooperation Agreement with *F and -Africa to establish the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) —a key market institution that will provide Ethiopian entrepreneurs and businesses with access to long term finance.
✍EIH’s role in the development of capital markets goes beyond its investment in ESX. As the owner and manager of state-owned companies, EIH will serve as the wind underneath ESX’s wings by floating minority shares of selected companies under its management. ESX will democratize corporate ownership of the nation's largest and most influential companies, empowering Ethiopians with a direct stake in their country's economic infrastructure.

Ethiopian Investment Holdings joins IFSWF

👉The International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF), a global network of sovereign wealth funds from over 40 countries, has admitted the Ethiopian Investment Holdings as an associate member.
👉Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH) was founded in January 2022 as a holding company. EIH is the strategic investment arm of Ethiopia's government responsible for providing professional oversight and optimizing commercial assets to unlock value. EIH aims to attract investors by consolidating assets for monetization and establishing a co-investment platform further strengthening the national institutional framework for capital mobilization.
👉The International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF) is a voluntary organization of global sovereign wealth funds committed to promoting good governance and investment management practices through dialogue, research, and self- assessment. The IFSWF also seeks to promote a deeper understanding of sovereign wealth fund activity amongst government and financial services institutions.
👉IFSWF associate membership is approved for institutions in the early stages of becoming sovereign wealth funds. EIH voluntarily agrees to implement the Santiago Principles.
