🚨 Gololcha–Gire Sama DC-2 Gravel Access Road Inspection Conducted.

On August 18, 2026, a high-level joint delegation conducted a comprehensive supervision visit to the Gololcha–Gire Sama DC-2 Gravel Access Road Construction Project.

The delegation included FPCU leadership led by Federal Project Manager Ob. Seid Omer, RPCU representatives led by Regional Project Manager Ob. Gurmessa Lelisa, OIPDB Deputy Head Ob. Roba Turche, as well as representatives from the West Hararge Zone and Gumbi Bordode Woreda.

With the construction of the 26+ kilometer road nearing completion, the main objective of the visit was to assess the overall quality and progress of the project, provide technical guidance, and ensure that the contractor completes all outstanding corrective works before the official handover.

The delegation inspected the entire road section from start to finish, including the construction progress of two key bridges along the route. The contractor was instructed to accelerate the remaining works and complete the project within the agreed timeframe.

During the visit, the delegation also met with local community representatives, who shared deeply moving testimonies about the impact of the road on their daily lives. Community members expressed their gratitude and emphasized that the road is expected to significantly improve access to health services, markets, education, and other essential services.

For many residents, the completion of this road represents more than improved transportation—it offers hope, safer access to essential services, and a better quality of life for the surrounding communities.
