The Embassy of the State of Palestine presents its sincere condolences to the Government and the people of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on the passing of the former President of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, M***i Haji Umer Idris, on 19 October 2025.

M***i Haji Umer Idris was a profound religious leader whose lifelong commitment to promoting unity, peace, and mutual understanding will be remembered with great admiration and respect. His passing is a great loss to Ethiopia and to all who value his noble legacy.

The Embassy of the State of Palestine shares in the sorrow of the Government and the people of Ethiopia, and conveys its deepest sympathy to his family, followers, and all Ethiopians mourning his loss
