The 3rd-year training of the "Capacity Building on Dairy Production in Ethiopia" program has been successfully completed under the KOICA Fellowship Program (CIAT)! 🇰🇷🇪🇹
Organized by KRC (Korea Rural Community Corporation), the training was held online with 14 participants from Ethiopia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock Development Institute and Ethiopian Agriculture Authority in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

[2025 Ethiopia Knowledge Sharing Activities]

On August 30 (Sat), KOICA Ethiopia Office, together with the Alumni Association, successfully held the “2nd Knowledge Sharing Seminar of the 2025 Global Training Alumni”. The seminar, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel under the theme “Cultivating Leadership Skills: Empowering Women in Ethiopia”, brought together a total of 150 participants. 🙌

👩‍💼 Key Highlights
Through Dr. Assefa Beyene’s lecture, participants explored the core elements of leadership and the importance of Emotional Intelligence (EI), while discussing strategies for women leaders to overcome social and cultural barriers. Panel discussions and Q&A sessions further enriched the dialogue, offering diverse perspectives on strengthening women’s leadership in the public sector.

The seminar enabled participants to strengthen their capacity to exercise positive leadership within organizations and created a foundation for women leaders to take a more active role in contributing to society.

[166th GV Successful Completion of Pre-Departure Training & Start of Field Assignments]

KOICA Ethiopia World Friends Korea program proudly announces the successful completion of capacity training for its 166th batch of general volunteers. The intensive program ran from July 28, 2025, to August 31, 2025.

Following their training, two dedicated volunteers were officially dispatched on September 1, 2025, to Ethiopian Sports Academy, where they will contribute their expertise in Physiotherapy and Social Welfare. 💪

This marks an exciting new chapter for these volunteers as they embark on their journey to make a meaningful impact, with the full support and encouragement of everyone cheering them on.🙌💙

The session focused on sharing practical guidance and clarifying key procedures to support smooth and efficient day-to-day operations related-with visa and ID issuance.
It was also an opportunity for staff to exchange experiences and strengthen their understanding of administrative processes.

Another new milestone was reached today, August 21, 2025!
KOICA, represented by Acting Country Director Ah-Young Jo, and UNHCR, represented by Representative a.i. Margaret Atieno, signed a Grant Agreement to support a transformative initiative that will be implemented by UNFPA and UNHCR.
📌 Project Title:
Building Adaptive Resilience for People Affected by Conflict and Climate Crisis, Focusing on Youth in Afar and South Ethiopia (2025–2028 | $10.9M)
This 4-year project will directly benefit 60,000+ young people – including refugees, returnees, and IDPs – helping them overcome challenges from conflict and climate change.

KOICA’s Innovative Product Export Leadership Proof-of-Concept Support Project

Ms. Ah-Young Jo, Acting Country Director of the KOICA Ethiopia Office, led the donation of BULO M Diagnostic Spirometers, advanced lung function testing devices produced by Breathings Company, for two leading healthcare institutions:

✅ MCM Comprehensive Specialized Hospital
✅ St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC)
⠀
💨 The BULO M device measures the volume of air exchanged in and out of a patient’s lungs, making it essential for diagnosing and managing respiratory conditions.

📅The donation ceremonies were held on August 12 at MCM Hospital and August 13 at St. Paul’s Hospital.

This generous contribution is part of KOICA’s Innovative Product Export Leadership Proof-of-Concept Support Project aimed at promoting the global introduction and adoption of innovative medical technologies in healthcare systems around the world.

KOICA 에티오피아 사무소가 브리딩스(Breathings)가 제작한 첨단 폐기능 검사 장비인 BULO M 진단용 폐활량계(Spirometer)를 병원에 기증했습니다

💨 BULO M 기기는 환자의 폐에서 들이마쉬고 내쉬는 공기의 양을 측정하여 호흡기 질환의 진단과 관리에 활용됩니다

📅 기증식은 지난 8월 12일과 13일에 MCM 과 SPHMMC에서 각각 열렸으며, 조아영 소장직무대리가 기증식에 참여했습니다
