It was a pleasure to meet H.E. Rebecca Amuge Otengo, Ambassador of Uganda this week 🇳🇿🤝🇺🇬

We had a warm and engaging discussion on key areas of interest, including regional developments and opportunities to further strengthen the relationship between New Zealand and Uganda.

We had a good discussions with H.E. Berhanu Nega, Minister of Education and H.E. Ergoge Tesfaye, Minister of Women, Children and Social Affairs this week.

We discussed number of priorities, including supporting women, children, and vulnerable communities (including rural), leadership, and education📚

NZ looks forward to further engagement on these important areas 🇳🇿🤝🇪🇹

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Nicholas Haysom, SRSG and Head of . His lifelong dedication to peace, justice & dialogue leave an enduring legacy. Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, colleagues, & all those whose lives he touched.

Today on , 🇳🇿 reaffirms commitment to rights, action & justice for all women & girls. In 2025, we strengthened our laws to ensure legal consequences for stalking & harassment. We’ll keep working with partners to advance women’s rights & expand access to justice.

We were pleased to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Ethiopian National Theatre this week! A great opportunity to learn more about 🇪🇹’s long history of supporting the arts and enjoy some beautiful music!

Good to close out the week with a courtesy call on H.E. Youssouf Mondoha Assoumani, Ambassador of Comoros to Ethiopia and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps. We discussed 🇳🇿's support for Comoros' geothermal sector, outcome of the AU summit and other mutual topics of interest.

The NZ Embassy is pleased to join the Food System Resilience for ESA: Scaling CSA workshop this week. We’re proud to partner with the World Bank on this programme and reaffirm our ongoing support for resilient, sustainable food systems in the region.

The New Zealand Embassy wishes all Ethiopians a happy Adwa Victory Day - a defining moment of pride in Ethiopia’s history.

Great to end the week with a fruitful courtesy call with H.E. Conrad Mederic, Ambassador of Seychelles to Ethiopia and the African Union. We discussed issues of mutual interest such as blue economy, tourism, and outcomes of the recent AU Summit. 🇸🇨🤝🇳🇿

: A busy, yet fruitful month with a series of successful bilateral courtesy calls with the Ambassadors of 🇬🇭, 🇩🇯 and 🇰🇪. We had good exchanges on issues of mutual interest including trade, regional security, and elevating our bilateral relations.
