H.E. Ambassador Mbapeua Muvangua participated in an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, together with a select group of African Permanent Representatives to the African Union, under the theme “Peace and Security in a Changing Geopolitical Order: Implications for Multilateralism and Regional Cooperation.” Fruitful discussions were held with our German counterparts from 22 to 25 March 2026.

This morning, 13 March 2026, I was greatly honoured to receive a courtesy call from Mr. Jonas Sheelongo, Executive Director of the Ministry of Works and Transport of Namibia, who is on an official visit to Ethiopia. We held fruitful discussions on the bilateral relations between Namibia and Ethiopia.

They exchanged views on various matters of mutual interest concerning our region and the continent.

The Namibian Embassy in Addis Ababa is concurrently accredited to Djibouti. Fruitful discussions were held on bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest to both countries.

Mbapeua Muvangua received a courtesy visit from Ms. Albab Tesfaye Ayalew, the Ethiopian candidate for membership of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC), seeking support during the election to be held at the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council in February 2026.

François Alabrune, Ambassador of France to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), and the French candidate for the position of Judge at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the 2026 election for the term 2027–2036, to solicit support for his candidacy.

H.E. Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the African Union, paid a courtesy call at the Embassy of Namibia and met with Mr. Veendapi Kamupingene, Chargé d’Affaires. During the discussions, they reaffirmed the strong bonds of friendship and solidarity happily existing between the two countries and explored opportunities for collaboration at the African Union.

The Deputy Minister is in Addis Ababa to attend the 17th Ordinary Meeting of the Specialized Technical Committee on Defence, Safety and Security (STCDSS), and the 20th Meeting of African Chiefs of Defence Staff and Heads of Safety and Security (ACDSS), taking place from 8–12 December 2025.

This afternoon, 4 December 2025, I received H.E. Mr. Adylbek Tultemirov, the new Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic, on a courtesy call. We exchanged views on matters of mutual interest. This marks the opening of the first Embassy of Kyrgyzstan on the African continent.
