The Ethiopian Blood and Tissue Bank Service (EBTBS) commemorates Donors Day, celebrated annually on June 14, with great honor.
The primary objective of this special day is to recognize and express deep gratitude to the compassionate philanthropists who voluntarily donate blood to save precious lives, as well as those who make cornea (eye tissue) donations to restore sight to our fellow citizens visually impaired due to corneal damage.
On one hand, donating blood saves the lives of individuals caught between life and death due to childbirth, accidents, and various illnesses; on the other hand, expanding cornea donation can brighten the darkened world of many.
This celebration serves as a platform calling upon all of us to become a part of these noble humanitarian acts and to raise awareness.

የኢትዮጵያ ደምና ሕበረ ህዋስ ባንክ አገልግሎት (EBTBS) በየአመቱ ሰኔ 7 ቀን የሚከበረውን የለጋሾች ቀን በታላቅ ክብር አክብሮ ይውላል።
የዚህ ልዩ ቀን ዋና ዓላማ የሰዎችን ውድ ህይወት ለመታደግ በፈቃደኝነት ደማቸውን ለሚለግሱ እና በዐይን ብሌን ጉዳት ምክንያት ማየት ለተሳናቸው ወገኖቻችን ብርሃን ለመመለስ የዓይን ብሌን ልገሳ ለሚያደርጉ ሩህሩህ በጎ አድራጊዎች እውቅናና ምስጋና መስጠት ነው።
በአንድ በኩል ደም በመለገስ በወሊድ፣ በአደጋ እና በተለያዩ ህመሞች ምክንያት በህይወትና በሞት መካከል ያሉ ወገኖችን ማዳን ሲቻል፤ በሌላ በኩል ደግሞ የአይን ብሌን ልገሳን በማስፋፋት የብዙዎችን የጨለመ ዓለም ማብራት ይቻላል።
ይህ በዓል ሁላችንም የእነዚህ ታላላቅ ሰብአዊ ተግባራት አካል እንድንሆን እና ግንዛቤ እንድንፈጥር ጥሪ የሚቀርብበት መድረክ ነው።

እንኳን ለዓለም የለጋሾች ቀን በሰላም አደረሳችሁ! ✨
ሰኔ 7 ቀን በበጎ ፈቃደኝነት ላይ ተመስርተው ክቡር ደማቸውን በመለገስ የሰውን ልጅ ሕይወት ለታደጉ እና የዓይን ብሌን ለመለገስ ቃል በመግባት ለወገኖቻቸው አዲስ ተስፋና የብርሃን ምንጭ ለሆኑ ውድ የሀገራችን በጎ ፈቃደኞች የላቀ ምስጋና የምናቀርብበትና ዕውቅና የምንሰጥበት ልዩ ዕለት ነው።
እያንዳንዱ የደም ልገሳ ውድ የሕይወት ማዳን ስጦታ ሲሆን፣ እያንዳንዱ የዓይን ብሌን ልገሳ ደግሞ ለሌላው ሰው ዓለምን በደመቀ ሁኔታ እንዲያይ የሚያደርግ ታላቅ ሰብአዊነት ነው። በአንድነት በመረባረብ ዘላቂ፣ አስተማማኝና ደህንነቱ የተጠበቀ የሕይወት አድን አቅርቦትን በሀገራችን ማረጋገጥ እንችላለን።

Service Collected 395 Bags of Blood During the 72nd Round of Life-Saving Campaign

With the motto "You don't have to be a medical professional to save a life!", the Abugida Rotaract Club's 23rd anniversary and 72nd round of blood donation campaign was held on May 31, 2026. The Ethiopian Blood and Tissue Bank Service managed to collect 395 bags of blood on that day at its branch located inside the Red Cross compound.
"Apart from bringing a high sense of inner satisfaction, participation in any kind of benevolent activity, including blood donation, plays a significant role in shaping the morals of young people," said young Ashenafi Getachew, Community Service Director of the Rotaract Club.
According to Ashenafi, being a participant in voluntary movements offers experiences in planning and executing tasks, and helps foster healthy relationships instead of wasting time in idle places. Beyond providing valuable life lessons for the future, it grants spiritual and conscientious fulfillment by saving precious, irreplaceable human lives with the blood that is replenished. He also called upon other young people to follow in their footsteps, join the club, and engage in humanitarian efforts to save lives.
Semah Abdo, a member of the Abugida Rotaract Club, shared her feelings before and after donating blood for the very first time. Before the donation, she said: "Even though I felt happy to participate in an activity that saves lives, I naturally fear needles, so I had mixed feelings thinking the donation needle would hurt. But now, it wasn't like what I feared; the needle didn't cause any pain. If there are others who haven't donated blood until today because you fear needles like I did, it doesn't cause any pain, so I urge you to participate in saving lives by donating blood."
Stating that citizens in need of blood, especially laboring mothers, should not lose their lives due to a lack of blood, young Yasmin Juhar said, "Personally, knowing that the blood I give saves the lives of mothers from death makes my joy twofold."
Abugida Rotaract Club is a local development association that operates with the core mission of Rotary International.

አገልግሎቱ 72ተኛ ዙር ህይወት የማዳን ጉዞ ላይ በመገኘት 395 ከረጢት ደም ሰብስቧል

"ህይወት ለማዳን የህክምና ባለሞያ መሆን አይጠበቅብዎትም!" በሚል መርህ የአቡጊዳ ሮትራክት ክለብ የ23ኛ ዓመትና የ72ኛ ዙር የደም ልገሳ ግንቦት 23 ቀን 2018 ተካሂዷል። የኢትዮጵያ ደምና ሕበረ ህዋስ ባንክ አገልግሎት በእለቱ ቀይመስቀል ጊቢ በሚገኘው ቅርንጫፉ 395 ከረጢት ደም መሰብሰብ ችሏል።

"የደም ልገሳን ጨምሮ ማንኛውም ዓይነት የበጎ ተግባር ተሳትፎ ከፍተኛ የህሊና እርካታ ከማጎናፀፉ ባሻገር የወጣቱን ስነምግባር በማነፅ በኩል ሚናው የጎላ ነው።" ያለን የሮትራክት ክለብ የማህበረሰብ አገልግሎት ዳይሬክተር ወጣት አሸናፊ ጌታቸው ነው።

እንደ ወጣት አሸናፊ ገለፃ የበጎ ፍቃድ ንቅናቄ ተሳታፊ በመሆን የማቀድ፣ የመፈፀም፣ አልባሌ ቦታ ከመዋል ጤናማ ግንኙነትን ለመፍጠር ባሻገር በቀጣይ ህይወት አጋዥ የሚሆኑ ልምዶችን ከማስገኘቱም በላይ በሚተካው ደም መተኪያ የሌለውን ክቡር የሰው ልጅ ህይወት በመታደግ መንፈሳዊና ህሊናዊ እርካታን ያጎናፅፋል። ሌሎች ወጣቶችም የኛን ፈለግ በመከተል እና ክለቡን በመቀላቀል ሰብዊአዊ ተሳትፎ በማድረግ ህይወት በማዳን ተግባር እንዲሳተፉ ጥሪ አቅርቧል።

ሰማህ አብዶ የአቡጊዳ ሮትራት አባል ስትሆን የመጀመሪያ ልገሳዋን ስታደርግ ከልገሳ በፊትና ከልገሳ በኋላ ያለውን ስሜትዋን አጋርታናለች። ከልገሳ በፊት "ሰዎችን በማዳን ተግባር በመሳተፌ ደስታ ቢሰማኝም በባህሪዩ መርፌ ስለምፈራ፤ የልገሳው መርፌ ያሳምመኛል የሚል የተደበላለቀ ስሜት እየተሰማን ነበር፡፡ አሁን ግን እንደፈራሁት አይደለም መርፌው ህመም አልፈጠረብኝም፡፡ ምናልባት እንደኔ መርፌ በመፍራት ደም እስከ ዛሬ ያልለገሳችሁ ካላችሁ ምንም ዓይነት ህመም የለውምና ደም በመለገስ ሕይዎት የማዳን ተግባር ላይ እንድትሳተፉ" ስትል ጥሪ አስተላልፋለች፡፡

ደም የሚያስፈልጋቸው ወገኖች በተለይም ወላድ እናቶች በደም እጦት ሳቢያ ሕይወታቸው ሊያልፍ እንደማይገባ የተናገረችው ወጣት ያስሚን ጁሃር በግሌ የምሰጠው ደም የእናቶችን ሕይወት ከሞት የሚታደግ በመሆኑ ደስታዬ እጥፍ ድርብ ነው ብላለች።
