嚴厲譴責中國跨國鎮壓，呼籲民主夥伴共同 #抵制威權暴力！

針對中國人士涉嫌因不滿我國藝文工作者 黃逸豪的喜劇本位主義 演出時批評中共政權，出資指使在台人士跟監並策劃傷害，外交部嚴厲譴責中國此等跨國鎮壓手段，企圖透過暴力威脅侵害我國人民人身安全及言論自由！

言論自由是民主社會不可侵犯的基石，任何人都不該因發表評論而遭受暴力報復。民主台灣絕不容許境外勢力以暴力與恐懼侵害人民的人身安全，迫使人民噤聲。

外交部重申，台灣人民如何表達意見、如何選擇自己的未來，都不容外來威脅與脅迫介入，這也是民主台灣與獨裁中國的最大差異。我國政府也將堅定捍衛國家主權、民主法治及人民安全，依法追究相關責任。

外交部呼籲呼籲國際社會共同正視中國跨國鎮壓的威脅，拒絕威權政體利用民主社會的開放與自由，從事恐嚇、滲透及暴力迫害。民主國家唯有團結合作，才能有效遏止威權暴力，守護人民免於恐懼的自由。

We condemn China's transnational repression & call on democratic partners to resist authoritarian violence!

MOFA condemns the orchestration of surveillance and violence against Taiwanese comedian Huang Yi-hao by Chinese nationals in Taiwan, reputedly due to their dissatisfaction with his criticism of the Chinese Communist Party regime. These acts of transnational repression threaten Taiwanese people's right to freedom of speech and their personal safety.

Freedom of speech is the foundation of all democratic societies, and no one should suffer violent reprisals for expressing their views. Democratic Taiwan will not stand for harassment or intimidation being leveraged against our citizens by external forces to silence them.

Taiwan reiterates that, however the Taiwanese people wish to express their opinions or decide their own future, they should not be cowed or harassed by external forces; this is the biggest difference between democratic Taiwan and authoritarian China. The government of Taiwan will continue to defend our sovereignty, democratic institutions, rule of law, and the personal safety of our citizens, and will not hesitate to prosecute anyone who violates these.

MOFA calls on the international community to be clear-eyed in recognizing the threat of China's transnational repression, and refuse to allow authoritarian regimes to take advantage of the open and free nature of democratic societies to engage in intimidation, infiltration, and violent coercion. Democracies can only prevail in curbing authoritarian violence and preventing the freedom of their citizens from being curtailed amid terror through solidarity.

最近 #歐洲議會 通過「歐中政治關係建議」報告案，內容除了肯定台歐盟緊密的夥伴關係，也反對中國以脅迫方式限縮台灣國際參與空間，報告書重點包含：

■ 台灣在半導體產業及全球供應鏈扮演關鍵角色，是歐盟重要的貿易夥伴及高科技創新樞紐。

■ 建議歐盟深化與台灣在半導體及網路安全等領域的合作，並呼籲立即啟動 #台歐盟雙邊投資協定 或關鍵供應鏈備忘錄的談判準備工作。

■ 重申歐盟從未認可中國的「一個中國原則」，反對以武力或脅迫片面改變台海現狀，並反對中國扭曲 #聯大第2758號決議。

■ 點名中國施壓歐方，阻撓蕭美琴副總統出席本年9月在義大利文托泰內舉辦的「歐洲自由與民主論壇」，並強烈反對中國的跨國鎮壓及法律於境外適用。

外交部誠摯感謝歐洲議會長期以具體行動支持台灣，關注台海和平穩定，並支持台灣國際參與。未來台灣將持續與好朋友深化合作，共同維護印太區域及全球的和平、安全與繁榮。

We've got something important to share with everyone 👊

The European Parliament has adopted a recommendation on EU-China political relations, which lauds Taiwan-Europe cooperative ties and opposes China's attempts to restrict Taiwan's international participation through force and coercion.

The report:

■ States that EU cooperation with Taiwan is crucial for global prosperity due to Taiwan’s vital role in the semiconductor industry and global supply chains, its position as a significant trading partner for the EU, and its status as a hub for innovation in high-tech sectors;

■ Highlights the importance of deepening economic and technological cooperation with Taiwan in fields such as semiconductors and cybersecurity, and of launching, without delay, preparatory measures for negotiations on a bilateral investment agreement, or other kinds of agreement, such as a memorandum of understanding on critical supply chains, with Taiwan.

■ Reiterates that the EU has never endorsed the One China Principle and opposes any provocation or unilateral attempt to violate the status quo by force or coercion, as well as the distortion of UN Resolution 2758 by China to support its claims over Taiwan’s territory and sovereignty.

■ Rejects China’s attempts to coerce international organizations, third countries, and other actors into restricting Taiwan’s international participation and contacts, as recently demonstrated by the pressure exerted by Beijing over the participation of Taiwan’s Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim in the Ventotene European Conference for Freedom and Democracy organized by the European Parliament.

MOFA thanks the European Parliament for its long-standing support for Taiwan, its concern for peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and Taiwan's international participation. Taiwan will continue to work with our European friends to strengthen cooperation and defend the peace, security, and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region and the wider world.

🗺️In its latest World Economic Outlook, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has sharply upgraded Taiwan’s real GDP growth forecast for this year from 5.2% in April to 10.7%, the highest in the Asia-Pacific region💪

According to the report, Taiwan and Korea are the only two nations in the upper reaches of the AI supply chain capable of producing advanced chips. Together, they account for 62% of global trade in AI-related cloud computing hardware. The IMF also expects Taiwan’s current account surplus to continue expanding, remaining well above the levels of most advanced and emerging economies💰

The IMF further projects Taiwan’s annual consumer price inflation at 2.0% this year, up from its previous forecast of 1.5% in April, while the unemployment rate is expected to remain unchanged at 3.4%✨

🇹🇼 President Lai Delivers National Day Address: " —The City on a Hill, the Salt of the Earth and the Light of the World"

The President Lai Ching-te delivered his National Day address today, themed "Taiwan—The City on a Hill, The Salt of the Earth, Light of the World." He emphasized that, despite undergoing a democratic transition and facing challenges in the international landscape, Taiwan has consistently demonstrated resilience and confidence. This year marks the 30th anniversary of direct presidential elections in Taiwan; through their votes, the Taiwanese people have proven that the people are the masters of the nation and that Taiwan's future is to be decided by the Taiwanese people themselves! ✨

The President noted that Taiwan has stood firm amidst a changing global landscape, delivering impressive economic performance and steadily enhancing its international competitiveness, while also making significant strides in diplomacy. These achievements belong to the people of Taiwan and demonstrate the power of democracy, freedom, and economic development reinforcing one another.

Three Major Visions for Building a "City on a Hill" 💯

🏠Solidifying the Foundation and Caring for People's Lives
Promoting wage increases, tax cuts, expanded benefits, and reduced burdens—spanning childcare support, long-term care services, housing justice, and personnel cultivation—to build a more robust social safety net, enabling every generation to live with peace of mind and pursue their dreams with courage.

🛡️Safeguarding democracy and upholding regional peace
We continue to advance defense reforms, strengthen asymmetric capabilities and defense self-reliance; and enhance defense resilience throughout society. Taiwan cherishes peace but will not forsake freedom; we are open to engagement but reject any attempts to diminish our status, and we are committed to safeguarding peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and in the Indo-Pacific through firm and responsible action.

自1978年起，台灣技術團 TTM FIJI 持續協助斐濟提升農業生產力。番石榴及火龍果計畫已培育逾1萬5,000株番石榴及1萬6,000株火龍果種苗，並透過智慧溫室、組織培養及氣候韌性農業技術，為斐濟農業注入新動能。

台斐於2026年啟動為期5年的白蝦產業發展計畫，強化蝦苗與飼料供應、養殖技術及人才培訓，促進民間投資，協助斐濟建立永續且具發展潛力的水產養殖產業。

馬偕紀念醫院醫療團隊 馬偕國際醫療中心 MacKay International Medical Service Center 今年第8度赴楠迪醫院提供免費醫療服務，更首度派遣感染科醫師，與當地醫護人員交流愛滋病防治及治療經驗，展現台灣以專業與關懷守護太平洋人民健康的堅定承諾。

🎉 On the evening of October 8, Representative David Cheng-Wei Wu of the Taipei Trade Office in Fiji hosted a reception celebrating the 115th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan), bringing together distinguished guests to celebrate Taiwan’s National Day and 55 years of Taiwan–Fiji friendship and cooperation!

Former Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry of the Republic of Fiji also attended and delivered remarks, recognizing Taiwan’s longstanding contributions to Fiji’s development. Both emphasized that Taiwan–Fiji cooperation goes beyond providing resources, focusing on technology transfer, professional training, and capacity building to help Fiji strengthen its self-reliance and sustainable development.

🌱 【Agricultural Cooperation | Cultivating the Land, Growing Lasting Results】

Since 1978, Taiwan’s Technical Mission has worked closely with Fiji to enhance agricultural productivity. Through guava and dragon fruit projects, more than 15,000 guava seedlings and 16,000 dragon fruit seedlings have been cultivated. Smart greenhouses, tissue culture, and climate-resilient farming technologies are also bringing new opportunities to Fiji’s agricultural sector.

🦐 【Aquaculture Cooperation | Building a Sustainable Shrimp Industry】

In 2026, Taiwan and Fiji launched a five-year shrimp industry development project to strengthen the supply of shrimp larvae and feed, improve farming techniques, and provide training for local farmers. By encouraging private investment, the initiative aims to establish a sustainable and commercially viable aquaculture industry in Fiji.

❤️ 【Medical Cooperation | Crossing Borders to Safeguard Public Health】

This year, Mackay Memorial Hospital’s medical team made its eighth visit to Nadi Hospital to provide free medical services. For the first time, an infectious disease specialist joined the mission to exchange expertise with local healthcare professionals on HIV prevention and treatment, demonstrating Taiwan’s enduring commitment to improving health and well-being across the Pacific.

🎓 【Talent Development | Sharing Knowledge, Empowering Communities】

Through scholarships, professional training, workshops, and academic exchanges, Taiwan continues to help Fiji develop expertise in agriculture, healthcare, and technology, transforming cooperation into lasting local capacity.
