Land lease security remains one of the most important issues facing farming families and rural communities across Fiji.
SODELPA believes there is a fair and practical way forward β one that protects landowners' rights while providing certainty for hardworking farmers and their families.
Our vision includes:
β
Faster processing of lease renewals
β
Reduced bureaucracy and delays
β
Greater security for farmers to invest and grow
β
Fair returns for landowners
β
Improved compensation, resettlement support, and collaborative alternative lease arrangements for affected tenants and landowners where leases are not renewed.
β
Strong support for agriculture, including sugarcane, dairy, vegetable, and livestock farming
β
SODELPA will vigorously explore Public-Private Partnership (PPP) opportunities to attract long-term investment, infrastructure development, and economic growth.
β
We will actively promote Joint Venture (JV) arrangements between investors and landowning units/owners to create sustainable development, shared prosperity, and long-term economic benefits.
SODELPA will continue to protect native land ownership while promoting policies that strengthen agriculture, create jobs, and grow our economy.
Land lease issues should not divide our people. They should be addressed through fairness, respect, and practical solutions that benefit landowners, tenants, and future generations of Fiji.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Vanua of Vuda, the Turaga na Tui Vuda, and the people of Viseisei for their warm hospitality, blessings, and for graciously opening and hosting the SODELPA Management Board Meeting.
As Fiji moves towards the 2026 General Election, SODELPA's Management Board convened in Vuda to discuss the Party's vision, priorities, and preparations for the future of our nation.
The meeting brought together Party leaders and officials to review progress made since the 2022 General Election, assess key national issues, and strengthen the Party's commitment to delivering practical solutions for the people of Fiji.
Discussions focused on economic opportunities, rural development, education, healthcare, environmental protection, good governance, and policies that will improve the lives of ordinary Fijians. The Board also reaffirmed SODELPA's commitment to advocating for issues affecting the iTaukei community while promoting the interests and wellbeing of all citizens.
A significant theme throughout the meeting was the importance of leadership grounded in service, accountability, and respect for the people. Board members emphasized the need to remain connected to communities and ensure that the voices of ordinary Fijians continue to shape the Party's direction.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of empowering the next generation of leaders. SODELPA recognizes that Fiji's future will depend on young people who are prepared to serve with integrity, responsibility, and a strong sense of national pride.
As the nation approaches another important election, SODELPA remains focused on presenting policies and solutions that address the challenges facing families, workers, farmers, businesses, and communities across Fiji.
The Party remains committed to the values of social responsibility, democracy, freedom, opportunity, and respect for human dignity. These principles will continue to guide SODELPA as it works towards a stronger, more united, and more prosperous Fiji.
Together, we can build a future that honours our past while creating new opportunities for generations to come.

For decades, the Sugar Industry was the backbone of Fiji's economy. It provided employment for thousands of families, supported rural communities, and contributed significantly to national development. The success of our nation was built on the hard work and dedication of our cane farmers, mill workers, transport operators, and the many businesses connected to the industry.
Today, the sugar sector faces many challenges, but its importance to Fiji remains undeniable. We must work together to restore confidence in the industry, support our farmers, improve productivity, and create opportunities for future generations.
At SODELPA, we believe that revitalising the Sugar Industry and strengthening our primary industries are key to economic growth, food security, rural development, and sustainable prosperity. Our farmers deserve policies that support their livelihoods and recognise their vital contribution to our nation.
The future of Fiji depends on investing in the industries that have always supported our people.
Support our cane farmers. Strengthen the Sugar Industry. Strengthen our economy. Build a Better Fiji.

Yesterday, Fiji came together to honour the life and legacy of Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna β a visionary leader whose courage, wisdom, and devotion to service helped shape the foundations of our nation.
Ratu Sukunaβs legacy reminds us that leadership is never about privilege, but about duty, sacrifice, and building for generations yet to come. His values of unity, humility, discipline, and service above self remain just as relevant today as Fiji continues to navigate a changing world.
As we reflected on his enduring contribution to nation-building, tribute was also paid to the late Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, whose life of service reflected the very principles that Ratu Sukuna stood for β honourable leadership, respect for tradition, and unwavering commitment to Fiji.
The occasion also served as a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect and empower the next generation through education, opportunity, strong values, and national unity.
May the life and legacy of Ratu Sukuna continue to inspire all Fijians to lead with courage, act with wisdom, and work together in building a stronger and more united Fiji.
Vina valevu djina and God bless Fiji.
