Our Kula Film students recently travelled to Mana Island for an unforgettable excursion to the US Survivor set on Mana Island, where they gained firsthand insight into film and television production and learned more about the creative and technical aspects of filmmaking in a real-world setting. A huge thank you to BSP Life, the Gold Sponsor of the Film category, for accompanying and supporting our students on this incredible learning journey. We are also grateful to FBC, our media partner, and Resonance, our event partner, for their continued support in helping create meaningful opportunities for the next generation of filmmakers. A special thank you to the US Survivor Fiji production team for generously accommodating this visit and providing our students with such a unique and inspiring behind-the-scenes experience.

A short tribute to one of Fiji’s longest serving film crew member - Ray Newton.
Ray worked across nearly every major production filmed in Fiji over the years, serving in many departments, most notably Lighting and Grips.
He was a familiar and respected presence on set, dependable, hardworking, and always ready to step in wherever needed.
No job was ever too big or too small for Ray. He approached every production with the same dedication, professionalism, and steady attitude.
He was someone many crew members leaned on, not only for his experience, but for his willingness to help, guide, and mentor those coming through the industry.
Ray was friendly, loyal, and deeply committed to the craft, though certainly not someone to be taken lightly.
His contribution to Fiji’s film industry spans decades and countless productions, leaving behind a legacy that will continue through the many people he worked alongside and mentored.
Film Fiji extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt gratitude to Ray’s family for sharing him with the industry for so many years.
Ray will be sorely missed🕊
From all of us at Film Fiji.
