"Leadership is measured by what we do for our people."
At the closing of the I Sausauvou Lead Leaders Course on Friday, 18 September 2026, Fiji National Universityโs Pro-Vice-Chancellor for TVET Pasifika and NTPC, Dr. Isimeli Tagicakiverata, challenged the cohort to reflect on the qualities of effective community leadership.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Tagicakiverata emphasized the need for leaders who can navigate crises, deliver practical solutions, and remain compassionate, empathetic, prayerful, and put their people-first. Above all, he urged the cohort to "TAKE ACTION & LEAD BY EXAMPLE," reinforcing that actions speak louder than words.
This call to action gives the I Sausauvou graduates a lasting responsibility to apply their training, support their communities, and step up in times of need.
Closing the event, Dr. Tagicakiverata thanked the participants for their patience and courage, while expressing appreciation to the Gone Turaga na Roko Tui Bau, Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua, and Dr. Sereima Naisilisili for their mentorship and guidance throughout the week.
The one-week course was officially opened on Monday, 14 September 2026, by Colonel Aseri Rokoura, RFMF Director of Force Development and Champion of the Veiliutaki Framework.
The course was delivered by the RFMF Veiliutaki Framework team, with direct support from facilitators of the Third Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment
