Engineers at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory have confirmed that the Orion spacecraft is communicating with the Deep Space Network. For the first time in over 50 years, we’re receiving a signal from a spacecraft carrying humans toward the Moon.

The U.S. Embassy in Paris is pleased to offer a limited number of consular outreach appointments in Bordeaux on April 23–24, 2026, for U.S. citizens seeking to apply for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) or a U.S. passport.

Appointments are available for the following services:
- Reporting the birth of a child born in France to a U.S. citizen and applying for the child’s first passport
- Passport applications for minors under age 16 holding a 5-year passport
- Passport applications for applicants over age 16 with a 5-year passport, or whose 10-year passport was issued more than 15 years ago
- Replacement of lost or stolen passports
