🚂 All Aboard the Number 8 Express! 🚂
Today in Ms. Jones’ class, our little mathematicians put their teamwork skills to work while learning all about composing and decomposing the number 8! 🧮✨
Using linking cubes, each team built a cube train with 8 train cars. Then they moved the engine to different spots along the track to discover all the different ways we can break apart 8 while still keeping 8 cars altogether.
We practiced combinations like 3 and 5, 4 and 4, 6 and 2, and more! The best part was watching them work together, count, check one another’s thinking, and realize that no matter where that engine went… 8 is still 8! 🚂💡
Hands-on math + teamwork + LOTS of smiling faces = a great day in Kinder! 🧡

🚒❤️ A big thank you to the firefighters from Medina County ESD Station 11 for visiting our school and teaching our students about fire prevention and safety! We are so grateful for their time, knowledge, and dedication to keeping our community safe. Thank you for helping our Cubs learn how to stay safe! 🐾🔥

Anchored4Life Team Leaders were trained today and are ready to support! They provide kits to military families that have a parent deploying or coming back (6 months or more) and any student that is moving from LCE. Reach out to your child’s teacher or an A4L advisor for more info.

Our Lost & Found is growing! If your child is missing a jacket, water bottle, lunchbox, sweatshirt, or other belongings, please remind them to check our Lost & Found.

We also encourage families to label jackets, water bottles, lunchboxes, and other personal items with your child’s name. This makes it much easier for lost items to find their way back home!

🧹🐾 Happy Custodial Appreciation Day! 🐾🧹

Our LaCoste Cubs are lucky to have an amazing custodial team! ❤️🧡 From keeping our campus clean and safe to helping wherever they are needed, our custodians work hard every day to make LCE a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Whether they’re fixing, cleaning, organizing, or even singing while they work, they keep our campus running smoothly! 🎶✨ We are so thankful for everything they do behind the scenes to take care of our students, staff, and school.

We’d be a MESS without you! 🧽🫧 Thank you for all you do for our LaCoste Cub family! We appreciate you more than you know! ❤️🧡

Today was our first LaCoste Elementary Community Garden Club meeting! 🌱
We had a wonderful start to Garden Club! We talked about all the fun things we’ll be doing throughout the year, including planting, caring for our garden, learning about plants and pollinators, and completing some fun seasonal gardening projects.
We also took a tour of the garden so students could explore our space and see where all the growing, learning, and probably a little getting dirty will happen!
We’re excited for a great year of growing together! 🌻🌱🐝

Freckles from Canines4Christ and his handler, Brent, visited six of our classrooms this week, and our Cubs absolutely loved it! There were lots of smiles, excitement, and furry fun as students enjoyed spending time with their special guest.

Freckles will be back next week to visit even more Cubs in their classrooms!

A big thank-you to Brent and Freckles for taking the time to brighten our students’ day. We can’t wait to welcome them back to LaCoste Elementary!
