The Association Montaud Patrimoine was entrusted with the protection and saving of Château de Montlaur, a medieval fortress located in France, in the Languedoc region, North of Montpellier. The objectives of Montaud Patrimoine are to save the château from degradation and destruction and also to create there a place of cultural life. Built in the XIth century for its oldest part, modified in the XIIIth century then again in the XVI-XVIIth centuries, the fortress was besieged and partly demolished in 1622 during the religious wars and abandoned afterwards. It is an exceptionnal archeological site of research on medieval architecture. Bienvenue sur le site du Château de Montlaur (34160 Montaud). La sauvegarde du château de Montlaur a été confiée à l'association Montaud Patrimoine avec pour objectif d'en assurer la mise en sécurité pour y créer un lieu de vie culturelle. Il fut construit au XIème siècle pour sa partie la plus ancienne. Modifié au XIIIème siècle puis à la Renaissance, il fut désaffecté peu après sa destruction partielle lors des guerres de religion en 1622. Il est un site archéologique exceptionnel de recherche sur l'architecture médiévale.
