𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞, 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

From 29 September to 2 October, Rome hosted the Euro-Mediterranean Water Forum – One Water, co-organised by the One Water Committee Italy, the Mediterranean Water Institute (IME) and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM).

CIHEAM contributed to the Forum through a delegation from across the organisation. In the session “Water Security in the Mediterranean: Connecting Knowledge, Skills and Regional Cooperation”, Ramzi Belkhodja, Head of Training at CIHEAM Zaragoza, joined fellow CIHEAM colleagues including Secretary General Teodoro Miano, Biagio Di Terlizzi, Director of CIHEAMBari, Nour Nsiri from Ciheam - IAMM , Prof. Zohra Lili Chabaane, Tunisia delegate to CIHEAM and Virginia Lachana from CIHEAM HQ, with Yasmine Seghirate, as moderator.

The session explored how knowledge, education and training, innovation and regional cooperation can support Mediterranean agriculture and rural areas in adapting to increasing water constraints.

For CIHEAM Zaragoza, it was a valuable opportunity to contribute to this regional dialogue and highlight the role of skills and knowledge sharing in building a more resilient and water-secure Mediterranean.
