On April 23rd 2018, Africa-Asia Forum organized a visit to the Japan Embassy in France, in collaboration with Northeast Asia Initiative at Sciences Po.
We had the privilege to talk to His Excellency Mr. Masato KITERA, Ambassador of Japan to France, about his experience of diplomatic life as well as the long-lasting relations between France and Japan.
We also had the chance to discuss about Japan’s presence in Africa and MENA region, especially Japan’s corporation in various areas such as defense and renewable energies.
Divine éclairs made by a Japanese chef-pâtissier settled in Paris have been served, to the delight of all participants !

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to H.E. Ambassador KITERA and the personnel of the Japanese embassy who warmly welcomed us and contributed to the success of this event.

This visit was introduced on the official twitter account of the Ambassador:

On 6th March, our members participated the 🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳 organized by JDI, with the presence of Sana de Courcelle (executive Dean of Sciences Po School of Public Affairs), and Mark Maloney (vice dean of Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs). The Visit started with a history and culture sharing tour in the embassy (L'hotel de Montesquieu) and 🎼🎼🎼a piano performance playing traditional Chinese songs, signifying a great fusion of the Western and Asian culture. Later, there was a lecture given by the ambassador and a Q&A session to exchange opinions between the ambassador and ScinecesPo students from more than 20 countries, making this visit as a “mini United Nations” type event. READ our analysis report on “A New Version of Franco-Chinese Relation", coming out from our onsite journalist to have a better understanding of the vision of China and the future diplomacy between France and China. 🇳🇱🇨🇳
