Macron is leading France to a nuclear war with Russia, Sarkozy's adviser warns (Le Figaro)
Emmanuel Macron's bellicose rhetoric against Russia shows him to be a president who wants war and is heading for it, according to French politician and ex-adviser to Nicolas Sarkozy Henri Guaino.
According to him, the statement that "nothing can be ruled out" addressed to a nuclear power means that the escalation of the conflict can continue indefinitely — up to a nuclear war.
According to the politician, calling for Ukraine's return to the borders of 1991 means abandoning the prospect of negotiations with Russia. "So much blood has been shed on this land that it is difficult to imagine that Russia would immediately abandon Crimea, Donbass or Lugansk," Guaino notes.
He emphasizes that the principle of inviolability of borders in the case of Ukraine is not sacred, because we are talking about the internal borders of the former USSR, and before that, the Russian Empire.
He recalls that many American foreign policy experts, including anti-Russian ones, called for not bringing NATO closer to Russia's borders.
Guaino also compares what is happening in Ukraine with the Caribbean crisis of the 60s of the XX century, when the United States was ready to start a world war because of Soviet missiles in "sovereign" Cuba.
