Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch held a meeting in Toulouse with Préfet of the Occitanie region, Pierre-André Durand. They exchanged views on Pakistan-France bilateral relations and discussed avenues for collaboration in trade, education, culture, and people-to-people contacts. They agreed to further enhance exchanges between the Occitanie region and Pakistan.

During her visit to Toulouse, Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch held a meeting with President of MEDEF Haute-Garonne Mr. Pierre Olivier Nau to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting trade and investment between Pakistan and the Occitanie region. Ambassador Baloch appreciated the continued support and engagement of MEDEF in advancing Pakistan–France economic ties.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch participated in a policy dialogue organized by the Department of Education, University of Oxford, on the theme: “How can policies make education equitable for all?”
Ambassador Baloch highlighted the importance of dialogue between policy makers, academia, and civil society to strengthen coherence and coordination in education policies. She outlined UNESCO’s education agenda and highlighted its important role in advancing access to education through policy guidance, technical cooperation, and support for inclusive education systems. She briefed the participants on Pakistan’s consistent support for UNESCO’s efforts in promoting equity and access in education and exploring innovative financing for education.
Ambassador Baloch also noted the challenge of out-of-school children and briefed the participants on Pakistan’s Education Emergency Plan to expand access, strengthen foundational learning, improve digital inclusion, and enhance girls’ education.

Ceremony Held in Honour of Dr. Aurore Didier on Receiving Pakistan Civil Award
The Embassy of Pakistan in Paris hosted a special ceremony in honour of Dr. Aurore Didier for conferment of Pakistan’s civil award, Tamgha-i-Pakistan (Medal of Pakistan), in recognition of her outstanding contributions to archaeology and the promotion of cultural cooperation between Pakistan and France.
Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch conferred the award on Dr. Didier on behalf of the President of Pakistan. The ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, French scholars and archaeologists, representatives of cultural institutions, media persons, and friends of Pakistan.
Welcoming the guests, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch congratulated Dr. Didier on the prestigious recognition and appreciated her invaluable services towards the preservation and promotion of Pakistan’s rich archaeological heritage, particularly the Indus Valley Civilization. The Ambassador highlighted the longstanding cooperation between Pakistan and France in the field of archaeology and underscored the important role played by Dr. Didier and other French archaeologists in strengthening bilateral cultural and academic ties.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Didier expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for the honour and reaffirmed her commitment to continued collaboration with Pakistani institutions and researchers. She noted that Pakistan’s archaeological heritage occupies a unique place in world civilization and emphasized the importance of joint efforts for its preservation and international promotion.
The event concluded with a reception in honour of Dr. Aurore Didier.
