A positive result in the election last week for Scottish TUSC in Northfield/ Mastrick North. We scored 38 first preference votes at a total of 1%. For a first time standing in the council elections in Aberdeen for Scottish TUSC and myself, as well as the forces at play in Aberdeen, this is an excellent result.
I'd like to thank all those who supported us and helped out during the campaign. We now have serious basis to build upon with both the 2021 and 22 results in Aberdeen. It may be a steady thing but the policies provided by us are only growing the support for an alternative to the chaos of capitalism. Onwards to socialism.

Tomorrow, May 5, is polling day for Scotland's local councils. If you want councillors to fight cuts rather than implement them, support the nationalisation of the rip-off energy companies and support workers fighting for pay rises that cover the cost of living then your choice is simple, Vote for your Scottish TUSC candidate with your No.1 vote tomorrow. No other candidates in your ward will fight for no cuts budgets.
During the last month we've distributed tens of thousands of leaflets, carried out dozens of street stalls, knocked on doors, held public meetings, marched on the May Day demos, fought for our socialist ideas at various hustings, taken part in the blockades at Carinryan in support of the sacked P&O workers, supported the picket lines of the EIS-FELA college workers, the Unite strikers at Renfrewshire council and UNISON members at Dundee University and given 100% backing to the heroic Glasgow equal pay fighters.
We are what we say we are, trade unionists and socialists who are striving to build a mass working class political alternative to the parties of cuts and capitalism.
